SUMo shows that a new version of Webroot SecureAnywhere is available -
v9.0.20.31. The Webroot page concurs, saying they use a gradual roll-out for updating.

Is there a rough ETA for getting the update?

Also, in my opinion, having a nonfunction right-click item of "Check for updates" is useless and should be removed. Right now it says that I am at the current version (which I am not, I am at v9.0.19.43). So, not only does it not upgrade me via a pull, but it does not even see the upgrade as needed.

If the only way to update is to wait for a phased push, why even have the right-click "Check for updates" item?

This mentions the gradual rollout that we are using, so expect it soon, but not right away.

A different thread gives a link for an exe that will perform the upgrade. Check the other thread here:
https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/WRusr-dll-CPU-usage/td-p/319439

The URL for the upgrade is here:
http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsainstall.exe

The upgrade worked perfectly and was very fast, silent install.

My point regarding a nonfunction "Check for updates" menu item remains valid, IMO.

Good to know! Glad you found a way to work around the wait until the automatic update hits.

I don't have an answer for the "Check for updates" function you mentioned, more than happy to look into it for you though.

The "Check for Updates" DOES work. If you hadn't started your PC in a while, and there was an update that had been rolled out TO YOU, this will check and install missed updates. Running a scan will achieve the same as it will check anytime you connect to the Webroot Cloud. The reason most never have an update pending is that it was already done silently in the background. Yours said you had the latest version because YOU DID (hadn't been rolled out to you, yet). You can either wait for the rollout or install over the top, as you did. After using Webroot for over six years, I can count on one hand the times I've used the right-click check and had an update pending. Just means that Webroot beat me to it, that's all. 😉

You are spot on BD, and I completely agree with you.

Now whether the point made by @ could be positively translated into a new feature request?

Perhaps, along the lines of 'it would be a useful improvement to indicate in the message that a new version is available & rolling out', might chime with other users enough to get it considered?

@ if you like the idea then pop over the Ideas Exchange and raise a new feature request?
