Java/virtual machine malware detection question
Hi, I have a question relating to platforms such as Java where its programs are run from within a virtual machine. How would WSA detect any malware in this sort of configuration? Presumably the java executable itself is a permitted application; I'm assuming this doesn't override the normal monitoring/firewall blocking etc that WSA would perform? Ta.

What should I pair with Webroot?..
So I have Webroot and it's doing a very nice job. I really do love it. However, I'm using Chrome. As you may know, Webroot does not work with Chrome very well (as opposed to it's built in IE tools). As a result, I am running the Chrome extension AdBlock to prevent mostly harmful advertisements and popups. It's a real shame because I love to support my fellow web developers, but in today's day and age where there have been reports of viruses inside of advertisements, we need to be careful. I remember one of the ratemyprofessor, or ratemyteacher, something like that website, as well as others, had flash ads that were managed by a third party company who let through ads that ran viruses through the system. Given how insecure Flash is, and the possible exploitation it can give hackers, it's very scary. I was actually infected this way which is why I got AdBlock. Now given this was before I had Webroot... but luckily I removed the virus, as much of a pain in the ass as it was! But
Windows 8 Upgrade Process
Evening all- Planning on upgrading to Win 8 Pro tomorrow when it comes out. What's the best approach here? Do I uninstall Webroot, upgrade to Win 8, then reinstall? Also -- is it necessary to run the native antimalware software that comes with Win 8? I don't run anything with Win 7, don't really think it's necessary. Ideas? Thanks! Terry
Hello, I have just read a very impressive review of Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2013.It was rated excellent and editors choice and top of the malware blocking list. Please read the review at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2410545,00.asp
POSSIBLE COMPROMISED AV aka Seriously bad juju going down with Webroot
My WRLog in the WRData folder is proof. I have 307.8 BILLION, no lie, BILLION system events since install and the number doesn't stop going up at and extremely high rate of speed. This is a possible compromised AV and vulnerability. Please work with me so that we can have this patched up for me and everyone else soon. Thank you, Jay
Question 1: I notice that some secure sights, e.g. my bank, have a login for name then another page for password and once entered the Chrome turns green with lock. Other sights with HTTPS to not turn green. Can someone please explain this to me. Question 2: I am in a big fight with my ISP. I have written my state corporation commission and the FCC and the Better Bidness Buttholes about them. I have sent my ISP copies of these complaints to my ISP. Now I think my ISP is monitoring me or my keystrokes cuz funny things are happening. Now all of a sudden when I'm at a government sight, the screen starts jumping and skanking all around. It reminds me of the old jitter bug that was a spyware or virus thing a year or 3 ago. Webroot does not pick anything up, but I use its Clean UP feature, and the Internet Options Delete, and my old Tracks Eraser to dump off all my cookies, log files, and other miscellaneous crap. Is there any way to tell if my actual ISP is monitoring my traffic
New to webroot and need help with setting up my account
As the subject reads I am new and I need some help. I have 2 laptops. One for me and one for my wife. We have 2 different andriod phones as well. After I created my webroot account I did create a user with my wifes name an email adress and I gave access to everything. Admin for all. As I understand we are both connected to the same account but we can log in through different email adresses. When I log in via my email adress I cant see that there is more than 1 computer protected and 1 smartphone connected. And when I log in via my wifes email adress I can only se that here computer and her phone is protected. Why is it like this? Shouldnt I be able to see that there is 2 computers and 2 phones connected to my account when I am admin? How is the backup working then? We have tried to share folders by logging in to the backup module to the other parts email adress from eachothers laptops. We can se the shared folder but it does not sync between us. I am kind of lost her. I want

Registering Android App, but it keeps saying wrong email or password
Hey guys, I need some help. I have been trying to fix this problem for months, off and on. This evening I tried yet again for several hours, including the time spent installing and uninstalling Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete, v. 22.214.171.124, on my PC, and then trying to get the SecureAnywhere Mobile Complete Android App to run on my HTC Incredible. The PC software always installs and runs correctly, but the mobile app won't accept my correct info for email and password on the initial registration screen. Specifically, it responds "Login failed. The email or password you entered is incorrect." I have checked and re-entered these numerous times, always with the same error message response. I have verified that the email and password I'm using on that app registration screen will in fact successfully log me into the "my.webrootanywhere.com" website on my PC. BTW, when I'm on there, I can see several consoles — though I'm not sure what is meant by 'co
Re: Error message logging in on cell phone
Hi there, I have been communicating with support concerning my problem. Someone was to have contacted me today after 1pm my time. I haven't received this call. Please help me to download and install the SecureAnywhere to my phone that is not the free one. I've purchased the complete to protect 2 Andorid smartphones as well as my PC's. I would like to see if I could re-download the software I had to see if this problem maybe corrected for my phones. If not then, I'll call Webroot myself to see if I can get this corrected. Thank you for any help you can give me.
NOT Happy Customer!!!!!!
In December I purchased 50+ Seats of Webroot Complete! I was re-assured that each seat will have the 10GB backup space. For convenience- I was told that the licenses will come in 5 packs. 10 Months later the Backup & Sync continues to have problems not to mention that the 10GB promised per seat is 10GB per license. To contact tech support by phone is a 40 minute wait. My Apple devices will not authenticate. I am increasingly getting more frustrated with what looked like a promising product. I wish Webroot was as diligent about Quality of this product as it is with its STUPID level of security it imposes on the accounts. Are you kidding me?.... 4 tear security level? I’ve spent in excess of $2000 dollars and I thing that I will mount a major campaign to get my moneys back-
I put in Webroot Secure Anywhere on my Windows 7. Immediately upon trying to use Chrome the screen went blank and a warning "WRSA.exe was terminated becaust it was deemed harmful by Active X Virus control" came on the screen from Bit Defender. I called Webroot and even with them controling to computer there was not found a way around this. I then called Bit Defender and there response was that WRSA was a collection of items and they could not access those things. So at that point I uninstalled Webroot and low and behold my Chrome access came back. Does anyone know of a solution that a person with very limited computer knowledge could use?
Can localization affect WSA performance?
I have some long lasting issues with WSA ... the missing padlock, problems with the Identity & Web shield and lately with the Firewall. All of these issues have been duly discussed with the support and they tend to believe they might stem from my OS and localization. I have agreed with Joe to debug my system remotely to confirm or refute the presumption once he is available. So it is not my intention now to make any hasty conclusions until the debugging. However in the light of above I have a simple question. How the OS and localization can affect WSA performance? In my case I have Vista Business SP2 with the Czech localization. I thought that all modules, services, features etc. of WSA should work on all supported OS (what Vista is) regardless on localization. I never was having issues with other applications because of my localization including security ones like Norton, ESET etc. If we would accept that localization could have influence on WSA which modules, services etc.

Need help, I think keycodes not playing nice!
I had an old keycode from my previous version of webroot, the one for only $40. I just upgraded to secure anywhere complete, and I can't activate on my phone or tablet because it wants to keep everything registered under old keycode. How do I deactivate the old keycode so it will stop causing me problems or make everything work under the new version I bought? I did download the right mobile app for my phone and tablet. It is working on my pc except the backup/sync won't work either. Also I do not get the search check marks in chrome, any one help me please?
