How can I access my backup files from a different computer? When I log into my webroot account under the backup section it says "View, download or share any of your files or photo albums that you are securely storing online from any computer with Internet access." However, underneath it only has a "buy backup" option. When I click on that, my keycodes come up and it shows that I have the Complete version that comes with 10GB of storage. I've synced the files from my laptop. I just can't figure out how to view them from a computer other than my laptop. Please help! Also, when trying to use SecureSync on my Android device - it's asking for a PIN. I don't remember ever setting a PIN so how can I reset it?
Hello forumfolks! Yesterday I bought Webroot Anywhere Complete, cause I thought it would be even better than my trusted security program (don't know if it's allowed, so I won't mention the name of the program) and because I can do without spam control and parental control. Really don't need these 2 features. But as it seems, I'm going to miss my trusted security program, because Webroot is giving me troubles, namely with it's toolbar. I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and every time I'm logging in a red bar appears, after a few seconds, telling me that my server connection is disabled (error 10) and I have to shut this bar down manually before I can go on surfing with my logged in toolbar. Another pet peeve is the fact that I have to log in my Webroot toolbar every time I open my browser, to be able to use the password manager. My trusted other security program was much better at that point, cause I only had to log in the first time I opened my browser and then it just stayed that way unti
I'm new to webroot and having had my login details for paypal stolen this week i thought i'd need a password manager. Tried everything and cant get the plugin. any ideas?
What is the difference between "Detection Configuration," "Protected Applications," and "Control Active Processes?"Knowledge Base
Question What is the difference between the various tabs in WSA which you can set items to "Allow," "Protect/Monitor," or "Block/Deny?" 1. PC Security > Quarantine > Detection Configuration 2. Identity & Privacy > Protected Applications 3. System Tools > System Control > Control Active Processes Answer 1. PC Security > Quarantine > Detection Configuration If an item is set to Allow in this area, it ignores it during scans and shield actions, meaning if it's a virus that has been allowed, it can continue acting as a virus acts. Be careful of what you allow in this area and ensure it's something you trust implicitly if you are going to change the status from Block to Allow. If an item is set to Monitor, it causes Webroot to watch the item to determine if it is legitimate or related to malware. It is not necessary to add files into this list or set files to monitor manually unless you are changing them from a Block or Allow status. This might be useful if for e
Inability to copy/paste into UEStudio text editor -- which is loss of access to Windows Clipboard -- traced to 'Deny' status assigned 'uestudio.exe' by Webroot. No notice to user when editor was tagged 'Deny', no User popup showing access to Windows clipboard was being blocked. path to 'Deny' setting: Identity and Privacy | Protected Applications (Advanced) | View/Edit Protected Applications 1. Is there a log somewhere detailing when and why this editor was tagged 'Deny'? 2. Is there a configuration parameter that can be set to notfy the user of these blockages when and why they occur? Hello: Webroot SecureAnywhere tags all keygen.exe files as 'W32.Malware.Gen'. Does it actually test them for anything at all? AFAIK, the ones I have on my system are not maliciious, have always worked OK, and are zero threat. -- Roy Zider WRSA version 188.8.131.52v. Windows XP SP3
Hello: There is no 'Pause' button on a manually-started scan, only 'Cancel'. Is that right? How does a user pause a currently-executing scan? WRSA.exe is using 99% CPU.. Attempts to lower task prioritiy from 'Normal' with Task Manager are blocked, "Access is denied'. I was 25 hours into this scan, and was not happy to have to cancel it to recover use of my workstation. -- Roy Zider Windows SP SP3 Latest version of WRSA (but no 'Help | About' tab to identify version)
Hello, I am new here. Currently trying on an old pc the trial version of SecureAnywhere Complete 2012 and I am loving it ! Just had a question, so when my new laptop arrives in a few days and I purchase the SecureAnywhere Complete 2012, which shows a license for 3 PCS, how will I get it on the other 2 different pcs ? The way I think it is suppose to be done and please correct me if I am wrong. I purchase and install from Webroot official page, the product I want. Then I get the keycode and enter it on my laptop, where I will buy the product.Later, keep the keycode for the other 2 PCS. Finally, from each of the other 2 pcs, I go to Webroot official web site (http://www.webroot.com/En_US/index.html), then click on the top, Support/SecureAnywhere Support/upper right side hit on Reinstall my product, do the Request Software and Keycode, select my product, fill in last name and my e-mail (the one I used to buy it on original pc) and then
I hope in the next version of webroot secure anywhere you include a password manager extension for google chome since lastpass already works with chrome, Also regarding the firefox addon, is there anyway you can make it persistant so if I uninstall and reinstall firefox I do not have to redownload and run the fix again to re add it? Thanks
When an .exe is "Allowed", what is the difference in the .exe file being in the various tabs in WSA which you can set to "Allow" in: 1. PC Security... Quarantine... Detection Configuration 2. Identity & Privacy... Protected Applications 3. System Tools... System Control... Control Active Processes If I have a program that I know is currently good, but the executable can be updated in the future with new versions, and the program can check daily for data updates, where should the "allow" setting be set? For example, I use security programs such as MS Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes... file editing programs Programs from PortableApps.com
As I am a new subscriber, I'd welcome some advice on the best settings to use for Protected Applications in the Identity and Privacy Area. I have 3 web browsers and all are set at "Protect" which I think is generally advised. The fourth application shown is Media Go which is rather like a Sony version of iTunes. You use it to download movies, music and games and it's also a library. Anyway, I found that this application had been set at "Deny". I don't think that that is correct. Should I change the setting to "Allow" or to "Protect." What are the relative risks? Incidentally I didn't put the Deny setting myself. It doesn't make sense to totally block a media store and library, does it? Thanks Martin
Everytime I try to login to the "My Webroot" account, I always get the same message when I login: Logout You are now logged off Return to Home This is really irritating. I can't login to my Webroot Backup & Sync either and I can't get my mobile apps to log me in either even though I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete 2012.
Hello Forum! I have a simple question: What is the proper way to add another mobile device to your account to gain access to Webbroot SecureAnywhere Complete? I want to add it to another smartphone. Does it make a different who owns the device?(It is my brother's) A helpful answer will be greatly appreciated/ Thank You, MrSomething
I guess I won't be buying your product because it's failed to detect an obvious infection. Where do I send this file so you add it to your database? It's really too bad, yours is the only product I can run in real time that doesn't slow my pc down to glacial spped. Oh well, I've saved a big chunk of change.
I didn't see another message like this one, please forgive me if there's a duplicate thread. I am interested in purchasing the "Essentials" product, but noticed the "Complete" version also includes Android device protection. Does anyone know if this is in addition to the 3 PCs covered by the product, or if each Android device counts against the 3 PCs covered?
Task Mgr identified as a Webroot Process, but I could not find a ref on other search engines. Also, sometimes there would be 2 of these processes running. Program stored in C:Program FilesBwxxojkxDQMARvfy.exe -ul. Odd that I have it on 1 pc , but not the other. Both use Webroot SecureAnyWhere complete. Thanks for any info.
Question
I want to submit malware samples to Webroot. How do I do that?
Answer
If you have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed on your computer, it's already automatically communicating with Webroot every time it runs a scan. So if your concern is regarding a file already being scanned, there is no need to send that file to us separately. One of the great things about cloud-based protection is that if we find a threat on your computer and that threat exists on other people's computers on which Webroot SecureAnywhere is installed as well, we pick it up there too. The same goes for good files. If we are able to determine that a particular file is safe, we will flag it as safe globally. There are automated components in the software that ensure this cloud-based process happens efficiently in the background. However, if you want to send us a file anyway, there are two ways to go about this. 1. You can open Webroot SecureAnywher
I just purchased a key for 3 computers. I have multiple operating systems installed on my computer and 2 other separate computers in my house. Am I able to use the license key on multiple operating systems on one computer as well as 2 other separate computers? In other words: are separate operating systems considered separate 'computers' to Webroot?
