Hi I have posted this question here https://community.webroot.com/t5/Announcements-and-Release-Notes/MRG-Effitas-Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Versus-Trusteer-Rapport/td-p/207548 , but I think it's better to create a new topic. The MRG comparative is very interesting and very good for Webroot, but if my understanding is correct FF browser is not as well protected as IE: "2.12 Firefox – malicious browser extension test" and "2.17 DNS hijacking" Can we hope for an improvement of FF security on the next months ? What is the best protected browser with Webroot ? IE , FF or GC ? Thanks
Ok...want to switch to Webroot from Trend Micro but unless I get this issue resolved it won't happen. The computer seems to freeze up to the point where the mouse runs at a crawl for about 5 mins. Now 1 cause at least seems to happen when I open Task Manager. Prior to install it would open in about 2 seconds. Now it takes 20-30 seconds and Task Manager process itself is running at about 23% CPU for that time. I then can barely move the mouse most of the time or do anything else on the PC. notice the Task Manager icon is blue rather than green so does that mean that Webroot has taken control of Task Manager? I added Task Manager itself as an exception to Allow but it seems to make little difference. Absolutely ruined a presentation I was running the other day. Turn off Realtime and Web Shield and it opens fine. What can I do to resolve?
I have a premium account for LastPass and a Premium account for Webroot Secure Anywhere. Now that these two companies have come together within the product known as Webroot Secure Anywhere should I when it comes to renewal of my Lastpass account let it lapse and then take up the offer of using LassPass within Webroot Secure Anywhere? Also is the LastPass product within Secure Anywhere the same as the LastPass Premium product that I already have?
Trying to get my Mother's laptop set up to use the Chrome toolbar, but when she tries to login, it tells her that the "Email address is unknown". She uses the very same address to login on the web conslle without any difficulty, but the chrome toolbar will not accept it. Any ideas or suggestions/ Rebooting doesn't seem to help.
Hello, I have been a WR user for many years so when it was time to get a new code for all our computers I did not hesitate. I have updated all the computers and phones but now about every 30 minutes there is a pop up about a new WebRoot user agreement. I have tried rebooting, opening it and scrolling through it and turning off the application and restarting but the problem persists on all of the Windows 10 devices. What is the solution, it is very annoying especially when I am in the middle of something and it pops up?
Hello all. I'm a newbie here. I've been using Norton for the last 10 years (Internet Security and Comcast Norton Security Suite which is really Norton 360). I switched to Webroot Complete and so far all seems to be going quite well. Does anyone know if there is a comparison between Norton and Webroot (current versions) to see how they rate protection wise against each other? It's hard to find test results for Webroot but what I've found on it for the latest version looks good. I'm just looking for some piece of mind that I'm as well protected with Webroot as I was with Norton. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Hello all Sorry if I'm being a bit dim but is there a simple way within backup to just choose a series of folders to be backed up, such that all files within those folders are backed up without having to set a series of filters for various file types. Let's say, for argument sake, that I have a single folder I wish to archive that contains a variety of file types. Is there a simple way of archiving just that one folder? Would it just be simpler to synchromise instead, even if that folder is not now being updated? Any advice welcome. Thanks. Chris
What is the difference between "Detection Configuration," "Protected Applications," and "Control Active Processes?"Knowledge Base
Question What is the difference between the various tabs in WSA which you can set items to "Allow," "Protect/Monitor," or "Block/Deny?" 1. PC Security > Quarantine > Detection Configuration 2. Identity & Privacy > Protected Applications 3. System Tools > System Control > Control Active Processes Answer 1. PC Security > Quarantine > Detection Configuration If an item is set to Allow in this area, it ignores it during scans and shield actions, meaning if it's a virus that has been allowed, it can continue acting as a virus acts. Be careful of what you allow in this area and ensure it's something you trust implicitly if you are going to change the status from Block to Allow. If an item is set to Monitor, it causes Webroot to watch the item to determine if it is legitimate or related to malware. It is not necessary to add files into this list or set files to monitor manually unless you are changing them from a Block or Allow status. This might be useful if for e
I'm having some trouble setting up the password manager as follows: all goes well until I clicked on "set up account now" and the tab changed to "passwords". Then when I clicked "passwords" it didn't prompt me to log back in but instead, takes me to a blank page. Anyone know anything about that? I did submit a trouble ticket and was told to call them for security reasons and when I called the wait time was thirty minutes. So, I thought maybe someone here has seen this before. ~Pen
In the system tray I get a warning that Webroot needs to be turned on. When I launch Webroot The console tells me that all is running fine and there is no problem. Another issue is I get occasional emails asking me to renew my subscription because my key has expired, which I did in Nov 2015. Thanks Pat Imbriglio
I updated to Windows 8.1 and now webroot says "an active process has a possible memory leak (iexplore.exe) and my computer shuts down randomly while I am in Internet explorer and says "unable to write memory".... The only thing different in my system is the update to windows 8.1. I really need a solution because Internet explorer keeps shutting down on me... Please help! Thank you! Michelle
