I have surveillance DVR which I view through Internet Explorer 8. It is dependent on an ActiveX ... which I notice resides at C:Program FilesVideoSystemOCXCtrlOCXCtrl.ocx. I used Firefox for all other browser needs. I looked into IE and found reference to Webroot, under "Tools, Manage Add-Ons": I disabled four references, to no avail. I looked into Webroot, and whitelisted here and there... it's confusing... to no avail. What DOES work is to Shut down Protection completely... not what I want. Please advise. Thank you.
Hello Members:
I have requested 8X to Support to resolve this issue since Jan 10, 2019
PASSWORD MGR ERROR: "an error occurred while attempting to contact the server" Are others still experiencing this same issue? Thank you in advance for a prompt response. ~ Alan
1) When I first tried to install webroot I had nothing other than windows firewall and maybe an out of date (by 800+ days) copy of malwarebytes (I can't remember if I installed it before or after webroot) protecting my PC. Webroot froze up instead of installing and that left my PC vulnerable for around 3 minutes while I tried to be patient with the install. So, I restarted my PC and tried to install it again. This time it installed just fine for some reason. I had just got done loading my OS from scratch, so it should have been clean. Should I go ahead and reload my OS now to make sure nothing got on my PC while it was unprotected? I would rather go ahead and do that now rather than wait if I do need to. I don't know why it wouldn't install the first time. 2) It keeps asking me to block some program, I think it's the same program every time but I'm not sure. I've found no way to access a list of programs that have been blocked. The following is what I recorded one time when this happen
I did a clean install of WSAC on my Win XP computer. I have backup already established in my account. Tried to login to backup on clean install and I get login failure. I tried with IE-8 and FF as default browsers, both failed. Looked in WRData File: "Sync Folder" with the following error: ERROR: "CSessionObject::Authenticate: Backend authorization for user failed (region 200, error 12152)" and "WARNING: ServiceRequest_SetCredentials: Error returned by service (12152)." When I try to login WSA starts "Performing Credential Validation to Establish Connection" then hangs at 99% for approx 20 seconds then fails to login. I only use backup on the XP computer. (I have no problem logging into my Webroot Account Console) Is it time to Send a Support Ticket & Logs or is there a problem on Webroots end? ;)
Hi all :D , When WSA complete vers 804115 begins scanning at the schedule time i set up, 2 instances of WSA run at the same time! lol i'm compelled to close one of the 2 windows to complete the process... A bug?. Any ideas why this occurs? Thanks for your replies. Cheers, Herve
I have recently upgraded to the new anniversary edition of Windows 10 Version 1607 which introduces an upgraded version of Edge version 38.14393.0.0 with support for extentions. I see that the Webroot Backup and Restore extention is available in the extention store. However I see that the password manager extention is missing. Is there any plan to support Edge at this time? If so by when? I see that LastPass already supports Edge, and it seems to work well.
I've posted concerning problems I've had with hacking in the past and although the situation has gotten better, I still have lag times as if someone is using my processor. I've removed all the games that were pre-installed in an attempt help with the speed. It's a satelitte laptop and although I'm far from being a "computer geek/god", even I know when I'm not scrolling, but the screen absolutely is scrolling. I'm pretty much beyond annoyed with these people at this point and would greatly appreciate suggestions from my software community.
Ok, so I got a free copy of the full registered version of Secureanywhere from best buy. Thankfully it was free because I would never buy this software for the reason I am writing about. I cannot use it on my cell phone. And I am not the only one with the issue of signing in on the app. It is always saying that everything is wrong. I read the reviews and added my own 1 star review to increase the 1 star reviews on Android by infinite. People are upset, including myself. This software says that it can be used on your mobile device. Until this is fixed, it is false advertising becaue I and many many others cannot get it to work. I think I will be going back to Nortons and tossing this in the trash. Any idea when or if this is going to be fixed or shall I place my Nortons order on Amazon? Thanks.
I purchased the 5 device license and have installed on two PC's so far but I can't get the Secure Anywhere dashboard to recognize the second PC. When I try to add the second PC to the dasboard it keeps asking for a keycode but won't accept the keycode that was emailed to me when purchased. It keeps telling me that keycode has already been activated and to try another keycode as if the 5 device license should have come with 5 keycodes but I only received one. The only way I see to get more keycodes is to purchase them but that's senseless when only 1 of 5 devices has been registered. Any suggestions or should I cancel this and walk away?
I use Webroot's System Analyzer. (System Tools>System Analyzer>Start). One of the results relates to defrag. I always defrag my drives ... with regularity. My drives are not fragmented. Yet, I almost always get this result after using System Analyzer: "A large number of fragmented files have been found." I don't believe this readout is accurate. I think Webroot's System Analyzer is giving me false reads. BTW, why don't you have a "defrag" feature that allows you to defrag your drives?
Hello, I am also having an issue with the Secure Anywhere Complete edition. It will not allow me to login and says that my email or password is not correct. I know that I am putting it in correctly, as well as the keycode. I have installed the regular versions on my devices because I couldn't get the Complete to work, and my devices show up in my account after I login, but for some reason the Complete will not accept my creds. I have changed the password so many times trying to get it to work. I really like this product and the best feature is the cross-device compatibility. Can someone help me out here? Keep in mind that I can login to everything else just fine, but it does seem to want one password on my PC for the sync login and a different one on the web portal. At any rate, I can at least figure that out. Please help. Thank you.
I am just curious, is there any downside to webroot over other antiviruses. It seems to be the best choice but i was curious if it uses more battery life or if its just more direct at finding problems. I am just curious ;) I forget how it works but, I remember hearing something like you get samples from known viruses from all around the world yes? I would be greatly interested in knowing just how good it really is. (don't tell me your critical secrets lol. because hackers could learn about it too.) Also webroot must've been made by someone truly brilliant. (my bad if it sounds like i am sucking up to you) again for what seems like the omph time... I am curious. Very much so...
Hi As I say here https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Missing-webroot-tool-bar/m-p/207272#M17200 , after updating FF 38 to FF 39 , I lost Webroot Task Bar. After running the toolbarfix tool Password Manager was back , but not the sites ratings. What can I do ? Thanks. Asklepios
I bought the upgrade to Nero 2015 from Nero. When I try to install it, it runs part way through and then it says that it was interrupted and I should try again later. Right before it announces that it has been interrupted, everything on my desktop disappears and doesn't come back unitl I reboot. I know there are others with the same dilemma. But then others are able to install without issue. I wonder if webroot might be blocking the install. I just read a post where someone with the same issue was able to install by doing the following: He disconnected his internet. He stopped his antivirus and his firewall. He also started MSConfig unchecked everything under start up. Then he rebooted and ran the installer. He said it successfully installed. Then restarted his antivirus, firewall and rechecked all the things in MSConfig and restarted his computer. Seems like a lot to go through though. The program was just released about a week ago. Maybe it isn't on the ap
I have a few questions about the password manager aspect of webroot. 1) does it need to have the webroot.exe installed for the plugin to work? a) if so, I would have to install it on every computer I would like my passwords to be used on.. including work computers and library computers correct? b) how do install on those computers without using a key for each one? 2) if it does not need the webroot.exe installed how do I install the toolbar/pluggin without it? Thank you for your time. Edit: Mike found a solution to my original posts question but not a solution to my specific problem. I.E. I was not specific enough for him to troubleshoot properly. I need to install webroot password management without using an .exe to utilize the plugin. A true firefox plugin uses an .xpi file to install and this method allows installs for "normal users" aka non-elevated accounts (atleast in my

Hi, I'm planning on upgrading my mac to OSX Mavericks. However I wanted to make sure Webroot for mac was compatible. The Webroot system requirements webpage for mac only includes Mountain Lion and Lion. Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.
