I had a quick search around for a solution to this, but the posts I found were 8 and 6 years old and like 9 pages long… So I’m hoping this problem has been fixed since then. The WRData directory is 65.1gb in size, with 3 files alone between 15-20gb each. (and all dated in the last week) Can someone tell me what these files are for? And can I just delete them?
Last night the applications on my PC started to hang, I couldn’t even get the PC to shutdown, I had to physically shut it down. The only odd things I noticed were that webroot was running at a constant 11-12% cpu, and a bit earlier there had been a new message pop-up, asking for permission to run \webroot\wrsa.exe -ls (I said yes). Again this morning Excel hung as I was trying to use it, Outlook also hung. So I tried shutting everything down to reboot. I managed to kill all apps but everything was super slow - even selecting shutdown from the start menu. Even once shutdown was selected it wasn’t shutting down. Again I looked in task manager, and webroot was at 11-12% cpu. I right clicked on the webroot icon, and chose to shutdown protection. Almost immediately the PC shut down (indicating that it was webroot that was interfering with the shutdown) Even though I’ve just rebooted I got 2 more pop ups during this asking for permission to run WRSA and it’s again running at 11-12% cpu
This is probably the last place someone with this problem will look, but I've just gone through Hell trying to install Microsoft Office 2016. I turns out that even when responding Yes to allow the install to make changes to the computer, Webroot prevents any changes to Excel's registry entries and doesn't inform you that it blocked the changes needed in the install. This prevents Excel being set up as an app associated with .xls and .xlsx file extensions so, while calling Excel directly, you can open spreadsheets and save new ones, but you cannot open those files directly and have Windows 10 recogise it is associated to Excel--you get an error saying there is no default program for that type of file. Six hours of Microsoft support (no exageration) later, reinstalling Office, repairing Windows, etc., etc. we finally disabled Webroot and voila, Excel can now be assigned as the app for these file types. It would be nice if Webroot informed you when it blocks a regi
Hello Community, I went thru the registration and account creation process on the site; http://my.webrootanywhere.com; after successfully registering and creating my account I attempted to login to http://my.webrootanywhere.com (I also have 2FA enabled); as soon as I enter my email address, userid password and then my 2FA code the site flashes the following error: “You have been logged out. Again I am trying to login to http://my.webrootanywhere.com so I have no idea when I am trying to login into the site it logs me out. Any suggestions of how to resolve this error. I tried IE, Firefox and MS Edge on either laptoop, tablet, phone, Mac or Windows OS and still having the same issue. Regards.
First off, after 4 months of using Webroot I will only be using it from now on. Absolutely love it. Even tested it by trying to download Pirate Bay torrents that I knew were infected and Webby didn't let them get through. However I have a question that I know will make me look like a "computer schmuck" but the truth is I am! When I ran a system analaysis on Webroot yesterday it gives me a score of 99% but it started sayIn I have a hardware problem by saying, "Graphics Ram is low which is impacting performance". I went to intel and downloaded an update for it but Webroot is still stating that. Also, my System Mehanic utility repair states everything is fine and no problems. Can someone tell me how to fix this? This is a new computer only a week old and everything about this started yesterday. Thanks and I appreciate your help! P.S. I really am not computer smart so please reply as if you were talking to a cave man. Thanks! -Bill
I have created several blogs on Google Blogger (blogspot.com) I also own domain names purchased directly from Google through Blogger. Webroot filtering extension always indicated everything was fine via the green security arrow. Google Blogger makes it very easy to convert the domain from blogspot.com to your own domain and create a https url. I have done this but now Webroot filtering extension has changed to yellow and says: "This site may contain content that could affect your online security." Nothing has changed but the web address and domain. Why would it see my new domain as a problem when it remains encrypted as before? How do I get webroot filtering extension to reflect the green arrow and indicate that there are no security issues with my blogs, which remain hosted by Google Blogger?
I noticed that Thunderbird is not listed under active connections in the WR-firewall. It is not under Mozilla, not under Thunderbird. Why is that and why can I send/receive email? B..t.w. the same is true under alowed apps in Windows defender firewall: no Thunderbird. Both are enabled according to the security centre. Using Thunderbird 68.6.0 32 bit, Windows 10 latest update, and Webroot complete.
Greetings, Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I only use Chrome, access the mgmt console in Chrome, and I removed IE a long time ago. How do I set the primary browser to Chrome? I can see the webroot filtering icon in Chrome’s toolbar, but I can’t report on the browsing history through webroot console because the primary browser is IE. Thanks in advance
I can't get anywhere with this bs... I can't retrieve my pasword as it says I need to confirm my secuirty code. Once entering the code characters requested (which appear in my software as being correct and activated) it says they're wrong. I've emailed support and they've not gotten back to me. Its been 2 days now. The software should either explain better what code they're asking for as I do not recall setting an additional code, like a master or anything (ala lastpass). Or they need to fix this confirmation procedure which seems to have a bug. I find this process really annoying and unhelpful. I just want to be able to use the software which I paid for without a headache. apperently that's asking WAAAY to much. -Kyle
I am one of many disappointed that lost device protection for Androids and Tablets has been removed from your product. I recognize there was trouble getting this option on newer devices but I have 2 older Samsung phones and S4 and an S7, as well as one newer devise - a Samsung View 2. I've switched over to Google device finder as you suggest but it does not compare to what Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete previously offered. I feel I have compromised my privacy severely and am so disappointed. I could opt in for the ATT lost protection service but it is rather pricey and I really don't have the confidence in ATT that I've had in Webroot previously. Please, please, please, reconsider and bring back Lost Device Protection. Are there others that feel the same way that want to contribute to the discussion. Has anyone found anything that compares?
One Specific File Keeps Returning After Each Scan And Deletion Of It. I Would Like It Gone But It Is Persistent. The File Is: C:\Windows\sysnative\pmls64.dll.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir.vir After Each Scan And Deletion Another .vir Is Added To The End. How Do I Permanently Get Rid Of it? Another Thing Is That When I Try To Get To The File It Says It Does Not Exist Within My Files. The File Was Labeled As Pua.Premier.Opinion
Hi, I use LogMeIn Pro to assist family members with computer issues/troubleshooting. I recently tried installing their desktop tool and Webroot identified it as maiware? Would their installer be considered Malware? If not, how do I get Webroot to see it as "safe"? Thanks
I have Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete for 5 devices. I can see my protected Windows PCs on the console, but I cannot see my protected mobile phones and tablets. How can I monitor the WebRoot status of those devices if they are not in my physical possession, and disable or dde-authorize WebRoot if I need to?
Hi Everyone, Since earlier this week, the webroot extension has not been working. All it keeps saying is that This extension requires Webroot SecureAnywhere to be installed and running. I already do have Webroot secure anywhere installed and it is active. How can I fix it? I also noticed that Webroot hasn’t been scanning my computer. I need to know how to fix that too. Thank you in advance!
