How to Permanently Delete a File from Backup & SyncKnowledge Base
If you want to remove a file or folder from your online backup, it will go to a Recycling Bin within the Root directory. This is to allow you a chance to restore the files in case they were deleted by mistake. If you would like to free this space and delete the files permanently from the online account, follow the steps below. Important: If you decide you would like to permanently delete these files, it will also delete the file on any computers the file is currently synced to. To prevent any loss of data, we recommend that you detach any Sync capabilities. when is this going to be fixed.problem-i have 2 windows accounts on computer both administrators.i install backup and sync on one account and then log out and log into other windows account and install backup and sync on that account.when i log out and log back into 1st windows account(installed backup previously)back up and sync is not installed i have to keep repeating these steps?some months back i had a remote session with a woman from webroot about this and she seen what was happening but i would have thought it would be fixed by now?by the way it happens on any computer i try not just one.
from what i have heard it might not. it would be helpful if someone could answer this. Also which would be better if it does this or the premier version. i await an answer. (sorry if i am asking again.) I just want to be clear if this works on it. i heard from a few people on google play that it doesn't work. (so let me know.) edit: whichever is better i will likely use. I hope it does work on android because it works well on my computer. (and doesn't slow it down.)
Why in 2019 does Webroot (Business) score so badly when tested with AV Test. https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/business-windows-client/manufacturer/webroot/ WR has not detected a lot of malware on my client PC’s but then again neither did Malwarebytes when I tested it in them…. Regards, XT
This is probably the last place someone with this problem will look, but I've just gone through Hell trying to install Microsoft Office 2016. I turns out that even when responding Yes to allow the install to make changes to the computer, Webroot prevents any changes to Excel's registry entries and doesn't inform you that it blocked the changes needed in the install. This prevents Excel being set up as an app associated with .xls and .xlsx file extensions so, while calling Excel directly, you can open spreadsheets and save new ones, but you cannot open those files directly and have Windows 10 recogise it is associated to Excel--you get an error saying there is no default program for that type of file. Six hours of Microsoft support (no exageration) later, reinstalling Office, repairing Windows, etc., etc. we finally disabled Webroot and voila, Excel can now be assigned as the app for these file types. It would be nice if Webroot informed you when it blocks a regi

Everytime I try to login to the "My Webroot" account, I always get the same message when I login: Logout You are now logged off Return to Home This is really irritating. I can't login to my Webroot Backup & Sync either and I can't get my mobile apps to log me in either even though I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete 2012.
I recently installed SecureAnywhere-Complete on an XP system containing IE7. Shortly, I will be upgrading to IE8.

Should SecureAnywhere (including the Password Manager) migrate seamlessly?
Should the Webroot toolbar appear on the IE8 display?
Should any SecureAnywhere action be required on my part to support the migration?
Thanks for your help.
How to Reactivate a PCKnowledge Base
This content has been reviewed and updated on February 18th, 2020. Question I deactivated one of my computers via the online console. How do I reactivate it? Answer Log into your Account Console. Click on the PC Security Tab or Button. On the next screen, at the upper right hand corner, click the VIEW drop down box, and select Deactivated PC's. You should now see a new screen that will show only Deactivated PC's. Click on the PC you wish to Reactivate. On the next screen that has the details of the Deactivated PC, click on the Commands tab at the top. The only command available is Reactivate. Click it. A confirmation pop up will display. Click CONFIRM to continue, or Cancel if you do not wish to reactivate this PC. Click Ok. The PC is now reactivated in the Console. You will still need to re-install WSA on your computer if you had already uninstalled it. NOTE: If you reinstall WSA onto a Deactivated PC it will activate the software on that computer,
Hi all :D , When WSA complete vers 804115 begins scanning at the schedule time i set up, 2 instances of WSA run at the same time! lol i'm compelled to close one of the 2 windows to complete the process... A bug?. Any ideas why this occurs? Thanks for your replies. Cheers, Herve
Hi I'm using the new version WSA 2014 and it seems 100% efective, but there is a lack of information that I think developers should care of. Let me give an example: I executed a exe file and WSA detected a threat shutting down the file but there is no information anywhere in the GUi about the kind of threat, or what file specifically was the threat since the file initially executed was an extractor of other files. Even the web console has only information about malware detected and nothing more. The quarantine has no new file, so it is quite a mistery what happened.
Hi WR Team/Community, I hope all is well. So there’s something I noticed when adding Edge Chrome to the app protection under the ID shield of WRSA. Every time there’s a new update to Edge, you need to manually add Edge Chrome again to the app protection. I have a feeling this is Edge being weird but it has happened 3 times already on 2 different computers. Can you guys take a look into this? Thank you.
I tested webroot's secureanywhere keylogger and screengrabber protection using the Anti-Keylogger Tester (ALKT v3.0) which has 7 different methods to test for capturing keystrokes, and 2 different methods for screen grabs. So far, webroot secureanywhere complete failed to protect 3 out of the 9 total methods. The failures are listed below. For the keyboard Lowlevel hook test - webroot failed to protect against keystrokes. Every single keystroke was intercepted. For the keyboard GetRawInputData test - some letters in words are being intercepted. For the screengrab screenshot 1 test (pushes a "print screen" keystroke) - a screen grab was successfully obtained. Questions: 1. Is webroot aware of these fails? 2. What are the implications of these failures in a real-world scenario? 3. Can Webroot please address this? If not addressable, why? Thanks in advance.
