when i try to log into my toolbar it says this in red: "your subscription has expired. renew now to continue accessing password management." i renewed my subscription before the time was up a few months ago. it is good for another 365 days from today. my subscription is good for another year but my toolbar doesn't realize this. i uninstalled it and reinstalled using toolbarfix.exe, but it still says the same thing. How can I fix this thing?? Thanks!
I deleted by mistake all log files in WRData folder including its sub-folders (Pkg, Sync, wrUrl). :S From the nature of log files I don't think it should cause troubles but you never know and hence I rather ask. BTW, WSA including Backup&Sync and Password manager works fine. How it could happen, easily ... I created a custom rule in CCleaner and forgot to exclude WRData folder. :@ Thanks for your thoughts.
I recently got an email regarding writing a review on WSAC and I did. Today I got an email alert that it got published. Gald to know that , and glad to be able to show my love for this wonderful software in my own words.
Re. this video by Webrooot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKMZ1Ukw_7I Can you please confirm that this (unknown and undetected) keylogger would be automatically blocked from sending the captured keystrokes to a remote server? i.e. would the Webroot firewall component prompt me before allowing an unknown (as yet unverified) application from connecting outbound? Thanks PJ
I purchased WSA Complete on 26th Dec 2013. My new product does not show safe searches (green ticks etc) in either IE11 or Google, nor does the filter extension appear in IE11 add-ons. Do I have to wait for the key to be updated on Webroot`s database before I get this (like in my old WSA Antivirus)? If so, how long does it take, as it could be a security issue as regards my children browsing the internet? Also, WSA Complete comes with a Toolbar. Does the Toolbar only deal with password management? I prefer to type in passwords so have disabled this. Or does it do more? Any advice greatly appreciated as it`s all new to me. Last point (for any webroot staff). I`ve changed my avatar pic once. Can I change it again, or are you only allowed the one change? Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all George
When I want to login to https://my.webrootanywhere.com/default.aspx I have to enter a password and after that I am asked to confirm the login ("Please enter the X and Y characters of your Security Code (case sensitive)). This information (full security code!) can only be saved in plain text on your servers. Isn't that a very high security risk? Dear Webroot Team and Community: I can't find this subject anywhere in the community. I am new to the community, but not to Webroot. (I have used Webroot for several years now). I currently use Webroot Internet Security Complete, and it covers up to 5 pcs + 3 mobile. I have a mixture of 5 pcs (laptops and desktop) and 2 Kindles covered. Also, 2 of the PC's are dual boot, so I don't actually own 5 separate machines, but since they are dual boot, each OS must be counted to be legal with Webroot. Imagine my surprise to discover that when I renew my coverage in a couple weeks, I will no longer be able to cover all these devices without DOUBLING my cost. I realize that nothing stays the same, but the 'same' product I had last year will now only cover 5 devices instead of up to 8 devices. That is a significant 'downgrade' in coverage for the same amount of money. I am retired now and on a fixed income and will now have to choose which of my devices will 'lose' th
Discovered McAfee is still on my pc when they billed me for another year :@ Called them and got that issue resolved but after searching internet and some posts in this forum, regarding McAfee, I find it seems to be all over the place in my pc. When I clicked on McAfee folders a drop-down menu offered some different choices, amoung them : "scan with webroot" (which I did & no threats were found), "Webroot permanently erase" and another option "Delete" (which I assume is Windows). In my pc I do not have anything McAfee listed in my uninstall program section, yet I seem to be finding McA. folders all over the place. When I have clicked on "delete" Windows File Operation requests my permission to make changes to my computer (I assume that deleting the files are the changes), sometimes when I click delete I get a "recycling window" . I also found a software removal tool (from Google, but I don't really have any idea what it would do or what it
Hello: There is no 'Pause' button on a manually-started scan, only 'Cancel'. Is that right? How does a user pause a currently-executing scan? WRSA.exe is using 99% CPU.. Attempts to lower task prioritiy from 'Normal' with Task Manager are blocked, "Access is denied'. I was 25 hours into this scan, and was not happy to have to cancel it to recover use of my workstation. -- Roy Zider Windows SP SP3 Latest version of WRSA (but no 'Help | About' tab to identify version)
I use a program called AutoHotKey that allows me, through a script, to type certain diacritical characters using hotstrings (so something like a'' will automatically change into an a-with-acute-accent). Webroot, however, blocks the script from working in browsers like Chrome, which is very unfortunate. Is there some way I can change the settings of Webroot to allow this script/program to function inside browsers?
What's the difference between System Cleaner (Overview>System Cleaner>Cleanup Now) and "Cleanup Now" (System Tools>Cleanup Now)? What does Cleanup Now clean up? Why don't you combine the functions? If Cleanup Now removes such things as temp files, why not have it do a defrag as well?
Sorry if this is a dead horse, but I cannot find an answer to this. After running Webroot's System Analyzer, one of the things it shows is "Updates are available for your system and have not been installed". My question is, WHAT updates is it talking about? I checked Windows update and only see three optional updates. Is it talking about those? Even if it is, am I missing somewhere that shows what updates it's telling me about? I checked the full report and see no mention of updates at all anywhere in the log. I hope this analyzer becomes more robust in its reporting in the future. It's a nice addition to the security suite.
I run System Analyzer with Opera running in the background and have got warning that Opera's active process has a possible memory leak, see below. However if I run the Analyzer with IE9 running in the background and closed Opera I have got no warning, see below. Therefore, should I be somehow worried?

Let's try to find a solution for the following problem. Yesterday Submitted a request to support about false reports of Website. At this moment I am still waiting for an answer. 5 PC's with Webroot Complete. They all have the same security settings, and no other realtime program's for protection PC No. 1 - url to a specific site, btw it's a newssite and not xxx, blocked. Site opens full with the warning from Webshield in the upper left corner. PC No 2 to 5 - the url to the specific site opens. Url checked with more than a half dozen online scanner, including brightcloud.com. The url comes back clean. Disabled "Verify When websites visited to determining legitimacy "and the site opens normally. Removed Webroot from the PC, reinstalled it with the default settings, problem back again. Removed Webroot from the PC, and removed any traces on the PC, reinstalled it with the default settings, problem back again Scanned the PC with different other malware / spyware / antivi
First off, after 4 months of using Webroot I will only be using it from now on. Absolutely love it. Even tested it by trying to download Pirate Bay torrents that I knew were infected and Webby didn't let them get through. However I have a question that I know will make me look like a "computer schmuck" but the truth is I am! When I ran a system analaysis on Webroot yesterday it gives me a score of 99% but it started sayIn I have a hardware problem by saying, "Graphics Ram is low which is impacting performance". I went to intel and downloaded an update for it but Webroot is still stating that. Also, my System Mehanic utility repair states everything is fine and no problems. Can someone tell me how to fix this? This is a new computer only a week old and everything about this started yesterday. Thanks and I appreciate your help! P.S. I really am not computer smart so please reply as if you were talking to a cave man. Thanks! -Bill
Hi. Because I had to clean up a couple of malware infections on my teenager's PC last year, I swtiched AV suppliers after reading PC Mag's reviews. I decided that since WebRoot SecureAnywhere plays nice with other products to couple Norton 360 together with WebRoot SA as a two layer defense for that teenage PC. Thus far, I can report good results as he's said WebRoot has blocked at least 2 downloads of game mods which infected his buddies systems. I also excluded webroot from Norton 360 and vice versa and followed the pages posted about tuning webroot. http://malwaretips.com/Thread-How-to-setup-Webroot-SA-alongside-another-Antivirus However, periodically (about every week or two) Norton 360 issues a message pop-up saying it has detected an incompatible product and do you want to remove it. Any thoughts on this or how to make Norton really stop flagging WebRoot? I've told him to ju
Hello All, Recently, within the last few weeks I noticed that Outlook 2010 will no longer open external links. An example would be a link from a contact to Yahoo News or Youtube. Clicking the link will open my default browser and will try to load the page, but the page remains blank and will not load the content. I'm assuming that either an MS Office update or an update from Webroot caused the change because I have not installed or made any configuration changes since the issue arose. After troubleshooting this myself I determined that the issue is specifically with the Identity Shield within SecureAnywhere Complete. If I disable it, the links work fine and with it enabled they will not load. I tried to narrow it down further by disabling some of the Identity Shield specific settings to no avail. I can have all of the settings unchecked and they still will not load. I also tried adding Outlook to Protected Applications and set the EXE's to "Allow" to no avail. The
Hello, I'm having problems after adding a new console/keycode. I puchased a new WSA Complete license and added it to my profile with a new console. My other console has my older keycode. Along with PC's I had my Android phone on the OLD console. I wanted to move my phone from the old console to the new one so I deactivated the phone in the old console, uninstalled the mobile version of WSA from my phone, reinstalled WSA on my phone using new keycode. It took over a day for the phone to show up in the new console, but it finally did and I was happy. The problem is, the phone is also back in my OLD console (even though the keycode is for the new one). So I deleted (deactivated) the phone from the OLD console and now it's gone from the new one as well. Very frustrating. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on here? Thanks much.
