Latest upgrade to Windows 10 1709, 16299.248 does not open Secure Anywhere either automagically or by a specific command.

More info
Windows Defender shows "OFF" and that Secure Anywhere is the protection.  But the link from there to start SA also does not work.

Hello,

Try what I suggested to this user and if in the end you don't see anything Submit a Support Ticket! https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/nothing-happens-when-I-double-click-the-installer-on-Windows-10/m-p/316317#M31513

Thanks,

SA is running, and I can see it in the Task Bar "notification area", but I still can't start a scan manually, or open an SA window to see what scans have run, etc.  My programmed daily scan should run tomorrow, I'll try to notice if it shows up.

@  If issues continue please do a clean reinstall!

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • Be sure you add your Keycode to your Online Console: Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and DO NOT import any old settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Daniel 😉

Apparently Windows never rebooted my pc after the problem update. I decided to try that before your suggested reinstall.  After I manually rebooted ALL IS WELL! (I hope).
Thanks again

WSA updates don't ask for reboots but users with issues I always suggest reboots even when doing a clean reinstall to set the WSA drivers. Thanks for the update and hope all works well!

Cheers,
