Since I've enabled the webroot filtering extension add on my computer using Chrome has slowed down. Any fix other than disabling it?

I understand what you are saying - I have also had this issue. What helped Chrome for me was to go into your Chrome Extensions page, and clicking the checkbox for "Allow Access to File URLs" under the Webroot filtering extension.
I do not know why it helped, but it did.
