Hi
I have posted this question here https://community.webroot.com/t5/Announcements-and-Release-Notes/MRG-Effitas-Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Versus-Trusteer-Rapport/td-p/207548 , but I think it's better to create a new topic.
The MRG comparative is very interesting and very good for Webroot, but if my understanding is correct FF browser is not as well protected as IE: "2.12 Firefox – malicious browser extension test" and "2.17 DNS hijacking"
Can we hope for an improvement of FF security on the next months ?
What is the best protected browser with Webroot ? IE , FF or GC ?
Thanks

Hi Asklepios

I understand why you ask but as I have said to you on a couple of occassions you are verging on paranoia; there may be some differences but from what I can see they are slight and in normal use one is unlikely to be compromised by them.  I use, regularly, IE, Chrome, Firefox, Cyberfox, plus other and I have no worries or issues about it.

WSA protects them all well, albeit some slightly less well than others mainly because of the nature of the browser concerned rather than anything related to WSA.

If you areally are worried about browser security then your best bet is to use one of the specialist, apparently more secure browsers such as Whitehat's Aviator, Cyberfox or Iron Browser...but be prepared for a locked down browsing experience.  As with everything on the Internet the level of risk is proportional to what you do/where you go on it.

Hello Baldrick,
I ask this question after reading the MRG Effitas test : https://community.webroot.com/t5/Announcements-and-Release-Notes/MRG-Effitas-Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Versus-Trusteer-Rapport/td-p/207548
If my understanding is correct, this test demonstrate that with Webroot, Firefox is not as well protected as Internet Explorer.
But possibly I did not understand all the subtlities of this test...

Hi Asklepios

What is the context to your questions?  I do not understand what you mean by best protected browser.  If you mean by WSA then they are to all intents and purposes protected to the same degree as WSA is doing the protecting.

If you are asking which browser is the most SECURE in its own right then that is a moot point. There will be those that say FF, some that swear it is Chrome, others that say that IE11 is now amongst the safest...and then there are those that subscribe to the view that one of the slew of derivative/specialist browsers such as Iron Browser, CyberFox, SlimJet, Aviator, etc., are the safest to use out of the box.

It really depends on from which point of view you are asking from.
