Why can't the polling interval be changed on Macs?

What is the difference between Mac and Windows which disallows the polling interval less than 24 hours on the Mac? Is there a solution or hack that can be applied to a machine to allow the polling time to be less on a Mac?

To force polling execute in a terminal:
sudo /usr/local/bin/WSDaemon -pollhttps://community.webroot.com/t5/Product-Questions/Command-to-poll-console-on-a-Mac-agent/m-p/300811/highlight/true#M5274

I still want an answer on the differences though.

There is no hack other than the command I mentioned to be executed. The reason why there is such a big difference between Mac and Windows is because the Webroot development team are still working on the Managed Mac implementation with no defined end date. That is information paraphrased from support.
