Scanning every file on your PC is a waste of your time and system resources. You dont need to scan every file

Hello fwsheppard,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

IMO you have the best Webroot Security anywhere! Can you explain what you mean by scans only 1/3 rd of your files?

Please have alook here for an explanation of Webroots scanning https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Scanning-PC-suspiciously-fast/m-p/6632/highlight/true#M214

Here's an explanation of how WSA works to protect you from malware, i see the diagram below.

Hi fwsheppard

Welcome to the Community Forums.

To cut to the chase WSA only scans active files/apps as inactive malware cannot hurt you/do damage to the system.and as a result it is one of the lightest, if not the lightest security app on the market, as has already been pointed out.

But the key thing is that it only scans active files/apps.
