I purchased Webroot through Geek Squad at Best Buy, I have had my subscription for a year, when asked to renew I did so and got an acknowledgement from Geek Squad, telling me I am renewed, but was not give a new key code to enter. SO....after several calls to Webroot and Geek Squad the problem still exists. I am asked to renew, threatened with pop ups about viruses in my computer. Best Buy/Geek Squad said I am renewed and have my original key code showing its active. However, my computer won't recognize it. Geek Squad did a quick fix and entered a 30 day code that kept me protected but now I am getting the threatening POP UPS> Will someone please help, me!! I paid for my renewal and just want it to work. Thanks Liz Browder
Hello, Since yesterday both my Windows 7 pcs are displaying the UAC prompt ( user account control ) Webroot wants to make changes to windows at every bootup. I have to click yes each time for webroot to load. If I change the User account control settings to never notify me then I do not get the prompts. I do not want to do this in case any unwanted programs make changes to windows or install. Please help. Stephen
Hi and Happy New Year! :-) My Name is David Castro. I can't use Internet Explorer. When I do, popups take over the screen. It now does this with the AOL browser and Google Chrome. I ran Norton anti-virus and it showed my laptop had the Resultsbay Trojan Virus on my Laptop. But Norton was unable to completely remove Resultsbay from my computer. Can Webroot do this?
Hello: I have purchased the Webroot Internet Security Plus product but the heading reads 'Webroot Secure Anywhere'. Shouldn't this be titled 'Webroot Internet Security Plus' so we know which product we have? regards, Richard Magerowski firstname.lastname@example.org

While browsing the topics over on the Microsoft Forums, a Windows Moderator was answering a question about the Anniversary Windows 10 download/installation. In his suggestions to the original poster of the question, he recommended that downloads/installations go quicker if .... ( A ) you use an Ethernet connection instead of a WiFi connection, and ( B ) if you turn OFF all AntiVirus Protection and Firewalls. It took forever to install the newest Windows version 1607. I don't have nor want any WiFi and did use an Ethernet connection for the download. Would the installation have been quicker and as safe if I did turn off the Webroot and Windows firewall ?
I would like to block a certain application from accessing the internet. I tried using Block/Allow files but when I do the next time Webroot does a scan it identifes that application as a Threat and wants to remove it from my computer. I want to use the App but I just don't want it to access the internet. Any help would be appreciated.
Any idea why webroot would consume 12.5GB of RAM? Saw the RAM warning when I went home to my PC tonight (no other applications running)...and poked around. Shutting down webroot (rogmhbti is the randomized name) dropped usage from 15GB to 2.5GB. Otherwise no issues, and everything seemed to be working happily. It might be worth noting that virtual memory is not enabled on this machine...and I know that is a whole 'nother subject of debate. Don't think it would matter here...but just in case it's relevant. (I was thinking it may be a "use 95% of RAM for something while computer is inactive" case, which is fine...but nothing changed while I used my PC for a bit, just in case...and I'm not sure what it would do with the RAM anyway.) I didn't think to see what happen if I loa
Recently I downloaded a trial version of WSA IS Plus, installed it and it is working fine. I have however still have two free device slots in my own WSA IS Complete, and having created a separate password profile, would now like to enroll the first computer (i.e: the one with the trial version) on my IS Complete package. What is involved? Do I first need a full uninstall of IS Plus? If so would appreciate it if you could point me to the appropriate instructions.
I would like to know if Internet Security Plus is capable of detecting when my PC has been remotely accessed. The reason I ask is that I was recently informed by both Verizon and HP that my computer hoe network, server, and my PC had been hacked. I was told that the technical level of the hacking is beyond what they are capable of dealing with. The information that I am working on is very valuable to certain people (re custody litigation), and I want to be as safe as possible, and am wondering if my webroot internet protection software has some tricks up its sleave, so to speak, that I could learn to use to my benefit. Last question is just that I am wondering what "listening" means for the status of active connections. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I mean I like that you get what you pay for. (Norton used to urge you to renew early and then in the fine print it would say that you forfeited any remaining days you had on the old subscription. Best Buy has never done that.) But... And it's a big BUT!!! About a month ago I get an email saying that my subscription would automatically renew with the credit card they had on file and there was no action required on my part. For most of the month, the Webroot panel has been yellow and every day I am urged to renew. Three days ago, the panel turns red and there is a red excamation. I even called Best Buy to make sure that I didn't need to push the renew button and enter my info. But they said no. Today I turn on my pc and Webroot says it is expired and all shields are off. So I call Best Buy again and they say it's OK. It shows that I am still active. (But not on my end.) She says that it is scheduled to renew at midnight on the 29th. She also conf
