Webroot Threats on new computer
Hi all, I just got home with my new iMac and Webroot has already popped up 5 threats and I don't know what to do with them. I have tried looking them up but I'm still not sure what to do with them. This is an example of one of them. /system/library/launchagents/com.apple.accessibility.dfrhud.plist/system/libarary/coreservices/backupd.bundle/contents/resources/backupd. Where is a good and reliable place to look up these threats and decide what to do with them? Thanks, Jangeed
Anti-Exploit/Anti-Ransomware and WSA
I was wondering if using Anti Exploit and Anti Ransomware software is really necessary when I already use WSA. Recently installed MBAM 3.0 trial but of course now I have another real time program sucking up cpu cycles and slowing down startup. It almost feels like web browsing has also slowed down but that could be my imagination. So in a nut shell are these types of programs just redundant and not necessary when using WSA ? As Always, Thanks Group Danjo
Webroot download site not secure
I just purchased Webroot SecureAnywhere® Internet Security Complete 5 Device , and when I click on the "Download for PC" button in my conf email it takes me to a page deemed NOT secure. Even though I uninstalled my McAffee software, it's being flagged by something leftover on my laptop from McAffee (would like to solve for that too but I digress for now). Message states that "http://anywhere.webro?otcloudav.com/zerol/?wsainstall.exe" is suspicious and dangerous... Why would webroot take me to a non-secure page to download security software? Very confused by this and would appreciate any help. Thank you.
Webroot acting goofy
Just purchased webroot secureAnywhere IS+, Installed and registered. Now every time I log in, I'm told my license has expired and do I was to 1, purchase webroot or 2, uninstall windows defender. Going back anf forth w/ support, told to uninstall / reinstall, no Webroot in the program list to remove! Webroot still sitting on my desktop, still prompting me to renew. Anyone run into this behavior before, any ideas?
Help! Why is my website showing up as suspicious
Hello, I just noticed that my Webroot extension is flagging my personal website as suspicious. I've seen on other threads that there is a form to submit to have the website reclassified, but I want to make sure there is not something I'm missing before I file the request. What are the reasons a website would be flagged suspicious and is there anything in particular I should look for to make sure it doesn't need additional attention before filing for the change? I ask because, while I know my website has a lot of links (it is a personal portfolio, so the main goal is to gather together in a single space a catalog of all my online publications), I have checked each of these links individually and found them to be, on their own, flagged as safe. So what else would I be missing from my end? Thanks!
Safe Finder Browser Hijack - How Do I Remove This?
Hi, I somehow have had something called "Safe Finder" download onto my iMac. It shows up as my homepage browser on both Chrome and Safari. I ran a Webroot scan, and it didn't find it, and so I can' seem to remove it using Webroot. Has anyone had experience with this browser Malware, and, know how to remove it off one's computer. Thanks, David
My Webroot internet security expired. I went to best buy and purchased internet security plus. I now have two different keycodes. One is expired and the other is not activated. I seem to be going around in circles and cannot activate the new keycode. Anytime I try to add a PC it just takes me to the Webrrot information screen telling my my subscription is expired. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I forgot my password. I received the email to create a new one and followed the instructions exactly but got an error message. It gave me the instructions again which I followed again exactly, and I got the same error message. I tried to email tech support, but I need my password--the one I forgot that started this whole process. Around and around I go for the past two months. And, of course, to talk with someone on the phone involves a 45 minute wait. Does WebRoot actually have customer service or should I find another product?
I just installed webroot on 5 of my machines. Since the install, most of my programs, especially my payroll and contact management software take forever to open, and once I close them, they take betwenn 30 and 45 seconds to close. I never had this problem prior to today; was using ESET 9, and the main reason for switching to Webroot was that ESET was consuming 245megs of ram. Now my ram usage is minimal for this program, but my programs respond as if they are on crutches. Any ideas? With thanks in advance PK
Mozilla Firefox 51.0.1
Webroot 188.8.131.52 is not letting me start Firefox. I get the error message: The Application was not able to start correctly. If I shut down Webroot Protection, Firefox starts just fine. IMG]http://i68.tinypic.com/55que9.jpg[/IMG] What can I do?
Is Backgroundtransferhost.exe Malware?
Hello, I've found information online in several forums stating that this executable is a form of backdoor ad-loading/redirect malware. Can anyone help me decide if I need to unblock this program through the 'View Active Connections' section of the Webroot App?
The Devil made me do it.........again
**bleep** the Devils and full speed ahead. Yep, those Devil hackers aint gonna get me. I'm grateful to Jason who assisted me in renewing my Webroot Internet Security Plus, I'm safe once again for another year. The times I have asked for customer assistance or for help from all the Community Staff Members I have been treated with the utmost respect, regardless of how minor my questions or concerns have been. Much obliged to all at Webroot and thanks once again to Jason for his assistance.
Moderate Risk sites
Why is outlook flagged as a Moderate Risk site and what can I do to visit the site safely, as this is my email provider? And, if I visited the site before seeing the Moderate Risk icon (by typing in the web address directly), is there anything I should do to ensure my computer is "clean" going forward? Is there a way to let sites know of these risks so they can address the problem, even if it's as big as outlook?
Webroot won't let an app run on the Mac
I bought an 'highly recommended' app from the Apple App Store. The name of the app is 'Duplicates Photos Fixer Pro'. When I try to run it, webroot immediately flashes a message: 'Thread Dectected'. SecureAnywhere has detected a threat and will begin a scan to remediate the problem. The detected threat is: PUA.OSX.TuneMyMac.r I did let the webroot scan complete. It removed the app. It appear to me that this is a false alert as there are many users running this app successfully. Can you please confirm that this is indeed a real threat? If not, what should I do to be able to run this app? Thanks
My question is, how do I find out how many and what computers are on my licence? Thanks
Hi, I ask this question because over the recent years I've got rid of a couple of laptops and I don't currently use a desk pc that I have but I need to add another laptop that my daughter has just bought. Not sure whether I'm at my 5 pc limit. How do I check and how do you delete old or defunct pc/laptops? Tha nks.
