I have had a Webroot account for years now, but each morning for about the last week when I start my Windows 10 PC, this popup appears telling me to “click here” to “create a NEW My Account.” Is this (late May 2022) popup even from Webroot? If it is, why am I being asked to create an account when I already have one (sounds highly suspicious to me)? If the popup is not from Webroot, what steps should I take to eradicate the little vermin? Thank you.
i have no problem getting online and accessing my account, but i have lost control over the webroot program on my system due to some sort of password problem. i can not make any changes whatsoever in the way the program behaves because i keep getting a "The password entered was incorrect." error message, this also affects the webroot toolbar in my browser as i can not access it either. Please help! Thank you for your time and consideration. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated!
Hey guys. Love Webroot and push it hard at work (bestbuy). I installed it on all my machines/phones/tablets. One thing I noticed since I installed on my desktop is that I am having trouble fully loading a lot of web pages - not all pages, but quite a few. It is only after I hit the refresh button that the page will fully load. It does not seem to be a cache issue, as it will happen on the same pages repeatedly. I do know that it has only started happening since I installed the software, and I haven't changed/installed anything else on my system since that might be causing it. Any ideas? Are there settings I can tweak? Thanks for any help.
Hello, Just bought Webroot Secureanywhere Internet Security Plus 5 device license and have tried to mail support about deleting a console and some other questions I had about the software, but haven`t received any answer. So I thought there maybe was someone in here that could do it. What I want is to delete a console I used for testing and add the the new keycode to the password managment future because the trial keycode there will expire and I am not able to do it myself. Things like adding keycode to password managment, deleting users you have created, deleting a console etc. should be done by the user himself. You probably get a lot of email from users need help about this. Also have a couple of questions. 1: My Mac (IMac OS X Mountain Lion) never showed up in the PC Security ? 2: I installed under testing the wrs on two mobile phones (Android-Galaxy s3) and one computer Windows 7. 3: I created a user in my console which had access to the m
I think I only have Webroot Internet Security. I know it's not complete and probably not plus. Anyways I was having trouble with these pop ups. Amazon the worse. Very annoying, thats when I had to call someone to help me get my computer back to normal. When all was done I asked if this version had a pop up blocker. I was told no it did not. I was than told that is why I would enable blocker on chrome an IE. Well I knew that. But like I said before I was a Norton user and I also had it enable on Norton. My question is how does anyone feel about having Webroot blocker for ads on computer? Is it worth it, or are people just relying on chrome and IE to do their job?
I have my scan schedule set to scan daily before noon when the computer is idle. I turn the computer on about 8AM everyday, and leave while I'm doing other things around the house. When I get on the computer around 11AM it still has not performed a scan. I usually 'wake' up the computer by moving the mouse. ( I just have the screen saver go blank after 10 minutes and the monitor turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity, but leave the HDD and System Standby running). It was performing the scan after I woke it up, but lately it doesn't and I run it manually. Does the monitor and screen saver turning off cause it not to perform the scheduled scan?
I have a Windows XP Pro machine with WRSA running (for a couple of years), and last night at 7:51pm AST a file named "Program" was created in the root directory (i.e., C:). As such, I received the Windows File Name Warning upon reboot that "There is a file or folder on your computer called "C:Program" which could cause certain applications to not fuction correctly. Renamintg it to "C:Program1" would solve this problem. Would you like to rename it now?" Properties of the file indicate that it is 743 KB with a description of "Webroot SecureAnywhere" and is digitally signed as "Webroot Inc." with a digital signature timestamp of "Jan 14, 2014 7:36:45 AM". A hexdump of the file shows at the top the standard "This program cannot be run in DOS mode" and at the bottom, there appears things like "Company Name - Webroot", etc. We have had WRSA installed for a couple of years and did not do anything special yesterday. Do you know what this file is, and why it is labled as Webroot?
I cannot access/download/review ANY pdf files from any source on my computer. Not even to pay my bills. Webroot won't allow the download of Adobe. How can I change this? I am getting tired of going to the library for this when I have a perfectly good computer and printer at home. Help please!!
I placed the trial version on my computer about 2 weeks ago while I waited for my purchased copy from Frys to come in the mail. I then wanted to uninstall the trial just to have a good clean install of my newly purchased Webroot.... Only thing is, it killed my network connection. I have no internet. How I removed Webroot was simply activating the uninstall file. That was it. Nothing else. I am currently restoring my computer to see if this helps, but I want to be able to remove the Webroot without it damaging my networking capabilities. Please advise.
A while ago before my old license key expired, I loaded a new Internet Security Plus 5 seats license in my console manager. Today I wasn't able to use the password manager, and I got a message that the license had expired. I logged to my console, and I found out that the password manager is still tied to the old code, and I have no way to switch it to the new code, like I did for my desktop and mobile endpoints, so I'm stuck. I've opened a ticked but of course being the week-end I bet won't get a reply any time soon. There are things I need to do ASAP, and I can't because all my online passwords are inside the Webroot password manager, and I can't use that functionality even though I paid for it. I find it utterly ridiculous that the user doesn't have an autonomous way to transition the password manager to a new valid license code. How could your developer team overlook such a huge limitation in your system? Frankly, so far I was very satisfied
Hi there, I got the Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus, and everything seems to be working. Though the only problem I have is the webThreat Icon doesn't show up in any of my searches using FF, IE and Chrome I tested if the webthreat is working by blocking a website using Webroot, and it works, but I still don't know why the icons don't show up in my google searches
My web filter add-on to filter safe websites has gone away and I don't know how to get it back. Please clarify why this has happened and how to reactivate it please. When I go to my Mozilla firefox browser add on page the Webroot Plugin is just gone. Sent a message to customer support with no response. Let’s get some movement here. Let’s go!
I've become a recent user of Webroot Security Essentials 2012, coming across from Microsoft Security Essentials. Things have been going well, but I've not a significant slowdown in browsing in Chrome and CPU usage in Chrome. As a result, I'm unable to watch videos on You Tube? If I stop Webroot, or use IE, there's no such problem. Does anyone else experience this, or know how it can be resolved? I've tried disabling all the 'Web Threat Shield' options, but that didn't help, so am guessing it's something to do with Chrome itself, rather than browsing?
I bought Webroot Internet Security Plus 2013, and installed it on my laptop (Windows 8 upgraded from Windows 7) and desktop (Windows 7). However, when looking at the web console, I'm noticing that the laptop is mentioned three times in the list of protected computers, taking up three spots out of the available five computers. Why is this? One of the instances has a last scan date of today (11/23), so I assume that that is the current one. The other two have last scan dates of 11/18 and 11/14. I installed the software on November 14, and nothing has changed to the laptop since then. Can I simply deactivate the laptops associated with the last scan dates of 11/14 and 11/18, or will that also deactivate the 'real' laptop, since they're all the same computer? Thanks! Ron
I already have Webroot Secure Anywhere on my desktop PC.I downloaded Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Complete from the Amazon app store.I am trying to fill in the info to access/register my mobile app account.I tried using my login that I use on my PC(Webroot Secure Anywhere).Webroot didn't like the password that I use on my PC,so I tried a different one using the 6 letters-3 numbers guideline. Then it says my Secure anywhere complete Keycode is not good-I must be a SecureAnywhere Complete customer-which I have been for several months. I am totally confused.Does the phone app require a different login and password? Why is my Key code not working? It is the keycode from my PC account.
Hey all... having an issue where recently my Wife's laptop is not updating scan information (date/time/results) of recent scans on the web console (it is showing current activity on her laptop in the application). I tried to send a scan command from the console to her laptop to do the scan and that didn't work for some reason. Then I manually scanned her computer yesterday 5/18/13 after looking at the activity listed on the console which stated that the last scan occurred on 5/16/13. Even after running yesterday's scan (5/18/13) it did not log the updated results to the web console. Haven't changed any settings on her laptop or on the console. Her laptop on the console is set for "user configuration" along with mine. i thought it was b/c I needed to clear browser cache but I did that and went back several times today and the date, time and results have not changed since 5/16/13. Thanks....
Hi, Having the firewall setup "Warn if any process connects to the internet unless explicitly allowed" and wanted to check how it works ending up quite surprised in the end ... I chose vlc.exe process (VLC player) under Network applications and changed it to Block from Allow. Afterwards I had run VLC player and had triggered the update check supposing that VLC wouldn't be able to connect to the internet due to imposed the connection rule to Block. However to my surprise VLC could check for the updates. Am I missing something as regards the firewall rules? Is there any way how could I properly check the firewall blocks the blocked processes/applications for the outbound connections? Thanks & regards, pegas EDIT: Strange ... I changed the firewall setting to "Warn if any new untrusted process connects to the internet", chose revouninstaller.exe for instance, changed to Block and tried to check updates of Revo Uninstaller what ended up in having the bl
Hi, I got Webroot with my Samsung laptop at the Best Buy Black Friday bundle, and I just wiped out the computer, and I need to install an antivirus, just to find that I don't have my keycode. I don't know what to do. I DO know that I can download the software online, but I have lost the keycode. Sorry that I double posted, I forgot I didn't have Webroot Security PLUS.
