Hi Under the Shields options there is the option to 'Prevent any program from modifying the HOSTS file'. If I allow a particular program or service under 'Block/Allow Files' will this override the above option i.e. allow that program or service to update the HOSTS file? Else is there another way of whitelisting a particular program or service to achieve this? Or is the only solution to temporarily uncheck that option above? Rgds - Paul
I downloaded the software from Amazon.com to my phone, the samsung s4 note. Once it downloaded I clicked the download and received a message saying that the file could not be opened. What have I done wrong and what do I do to remedy this situation. I also had trouble with downloading to my Toshiba lap top using google chrome, it was suggested that I try to download and install using a different browser, so using Internet Eplorer I was finally able to get it downloaded and seems to be working. My question is when I use chrome is my laptop protected?
Password Manager stopped working this AM. The Auto Fill feature is not working as well. Any ideas as to why? I use Firefox on my PC for work. Also, the pull down tab no longer appears alongside the Webroot icon at the top of my browser.
Hello...I just wanted to let the community know what I learned today and encase anyone else needs help. I have VS installed on my W7. I had VS check the file wsainstall.exe and iIdecided to block it because I thought it was PE.StealerZBot! 1.6524. Which sounded scary to me. WebrootAnywhere scanned my PC and found 8 threats. I opened a Support Ticket and they responded back...saying sometimes this issue is caused by a disk error and to check disk with Microsofts tools. So I'm doing that full disk scan via restart of PC and then sending log files to support. Hopefully I have a good outcome.. .
I had a very good Ted from web root go through my computer. As soon as I opened IE and opened a second tab I still had add ware. Sometimes it brings up a window that says I must call this number, my computer is infected. In order to close IE I have to open task manager, I cannot close the tab.
This filter extension does not seem to be compatible with firefox 34. I have been getting tab pop ups and some sites would load as text only with this extension enabled. After I scaned with Webroot, Malwarebytes, and hijackthis and everything came up clean. I started to disable and enable add-ons in firefox as soon as I enabled webroot add-on I got a tab pop up. The site I was getting the most pop ups was tweaktown.com and site I was getting text only mostly was on avsforum.com.
My client is seeing a WEBROOT - Reputation SUSPICIOUS warning for their web page (which I just created for them) when the site comes up in Google Search Results. The web page is pretty simple with no malicious content. What factors would trigger this warning ( since it doesn't appear to be related to page content. The site is: https://mobileservicesandrepairs.com/ Thanks
My father has webroot and this is his account. He was online and had a pop up from mypccare to call them that his computer had a virus and was comprimised. He called them They scammed him out off $299. Took my over an hour of threatning this company to get his money back. They sold him a subscription to webroot. They lied to him and told him his was expired. I just renewed his webroot subscription in Janurary of this year. This company also represents its self as part of microsoft. why does webroot not prevent these pop ups? what can i do to protect him from this happening again? And yes he has been told not to call anymore numbers that pop up. Signed, Concerned Son
Why is it that when I click on the password tab in the my account section, why does it come up on a non-secured webpage??? ONE would think that if any page should have a https link, it SHOULD be the passwords page shouldn't it???? Even Kaspersky got that one correct somehow. In the past years I have gone from using Trend Microsystems ( 5 years ), AVG ( 6 years ), Kaspersky ( 6 years ) to this Webroot. It seems that I will be looking for another company to see if it will satisfy my concers perhaps sooner than I would have liked to, as I thought this was going to be my final stop. How disappointing...

Hi, I'm new to Webroot. I am getting pop-up ads from CloudScout and can't figure out how to get rid of it. Webroot doesn't seem to recognize it - is that because it's Adware? I have tried to find it to uninstall it, but it doesn't appear anywhere in program files that I can see - anyone know how I can remove, or if Webroot has a function that will help me remove it? Thanks.
