Coming down with something!!
Hi, Anybody here been infected with a virus lately although have Internet Security Plus?!!! I'm running loads of scans but WSA comes up with nothing. Internet been horribly slow and jittery, got cut off last night with message saying I needed to contact my ISP to gain access again. Just had a Virgin engineer out who said that there's nothing wrong with the equipment but probably got a virus on the laptop as any page I try to go to is somehow being diverted through another?! and to either do a clean re-install or get a new one. Also have had loads of telephone calls from scammers, last one said I was gonna lose my ISP toward the end of this month so to contact them back to be put thru to a technician - which I scoffed at and hung up!! Don't know what to do now, any thoughts peeps? :@
WSA IS Plus not friendly with Windows 10 Pro
This last weekend, I migrated from an older Win 10 Pro to a new Win 10 Pro desktop. When setting up my default programs, Win 10 Settings would not show some of the programs I loaded (i.e., Chrome, Postbox plus several others). I worked with Microsoft Support for some time trying to figure out why Win 10 would not recognize them. Support eventually figured out it was WSA (ver. 126.96.36.199). I shut it down, uninstalled the programs and reinstalled them. BAM - there the programs were and I could change the defailt programs. Since then, I have tried to change another program default. Same problem. Again shut WSA down, installed the program and no problems. When I installed WSA seven months ago on the old PC, all these programs and default setting were already made on the old desktop. I am wondering if there is a tweak or secret to how to make WSA be more friendly wih Win 10. Do I need to add some URL exceptions or something to not have to go thru this every time I want to add a
Using another clean up Utility while Webroot is installed
Hi, I am new here. I wonder how many of you use Glary Utilities? I had it on my old laptop, and it was great! Now that I got this new laptop, I got the Webroot Internet Security Plus on here. However, I miss a lot of the features of Glary and I was just wondering if it is safe to run Glary while I have this one installed from Webroot? Thanks!
File reported as "Good" by Webroot being monitored
Hi! Today I checked my monitored processes after a windows update and saw that a process named "SearchUI.exe" was being monitored. I calculated the hash of the program and looked it up on Webroot's site and VirusTotal. VT said 0/68 detected and Webroot's site said that the determination was good. Why is it being monitored if Webroot knows that it is good? Here's an image showing it. Slow trackpad ?
Hello, I am new to WRSA and experiencing some uncomfortable behavior : my trackpad gestures (two fingers) got very slow. When I disable WRSA's protection, the trackpad returns back to its normal state. My computer runs Win 10 Pro 64 bits, an AMD A9-9420, 16 GB RAM (4 GB dedicated to the GPU). I have search the KB and didn't found something about. Do you have any idea about ? Many thanks
Webroot suddenly monitoring windows files
Hi! Today I noticed slower performance than normal and connection issues. I checked my router and other devices and they were all connected fine. I then checked Webroot's active process list to see that many system files were suddenly in the "monitored" section. Why is this happening? Is it a repeat of April 2017? unable to remove the Webroot Filtering Extension
In Internet Explorer -> Add - ons the option to remove is disabled. Webroot AV is no longer on the machine and hasn't been for some time. A colleague mentioned running these removal commands but I am not sure it will work: wrsa.exe -uninstall "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" -uninstall "C:Program Files (x86)WebrootWRSA.exe" -uninstall How can I get rid of this ENABLED and unremovable Add-in?
Web Filterng Driver
Was just looking thru some of the settings for Firewall/Web shield in advanced settings and I noticed that the box for Web filtering driver was NOT checked by default. Was curious as to why it wouldn't be and are there any disadvantages / drawbacks to having it enabled?
Why is this happening a few times a week ?
" An error occurred while attempting to contact the server. Please check your Internet Connection ". Even though I know for sure that my Internet Connection is working as it is supposed to, this warning still pops up. How can this be fixed once and for all ?
Folder That wont Delete
Recently, I created a storage folder on my laptop, I cleaned it out, and now it won't delete. The thing that scares me is when I try to remove it says "This file is open in another program." I tried using elevated cmd, but I just got the same message. I checked Task Manager, no suspicious programs were running in the background and I scanned the computer, and it came up clean, so I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
All zeros for current session
Having two issues for the past week or so. 1. I have two iterations of WRSA.exe opening up when my PC boots in Windows 7. One is less than 1MB, the other fluctuates. 2. For current session, I get zeroes all across. I can still scan a file manually but honestly don't know if this affects my real time protection. This doesn't happen every time but I prefer a more constant state rather than re-booting & hoping it sorts itself out. Any help would be appreaciated.
Webroot Alert- Paid but still alerting
So my Webroot is greyed out and showing an alert, but I'm paid up until this November. Scans are clean. The only other thing is that I got this computer at Best Buy with Geeksquad support, which Webroot wants me to renew on. I renewed my Geeksquad (and got another year of Webroot so it expires November 2019) but the icon is still greyed out with the alert symbol. What can I do to make it go back to normal? It doesn't feel right when it does this.
Webroot freezes my complete PC
Hello all, I have some strange behaviour with Webroot. I just installed my PC yesterday (again). Every time I open Corel VisualStudio for instance, I get a warning from Webroot that it wants to connect to the internet, please allow or disallow. Thusfar all fine... The problem is, that with that window the complete computer hangs. There is no way I can press any button or go to any other program; I can only press the reset switch. This did happen to me before, but I was on Windows 10 insider then. Now I'm on the Fall update, so I'd say normal daily use. The only way I can start these programs is by stopping Webroot, then starting and after use enabling Webroot again. Anybody else with this problem? Kind regards, Hans
