Greetings to all Webroot members. I recently got my computer back from HP. They had replaced a hard drive that had bitten the dust. Windows went through their updates that were successfully downloaded. The wizards over at Webroot assisted me in installing the toolbar and a few other things. All that happened on 05-08-2017. Here's a short story. I changed my Email password but it didn't take. I Googled Yahoos phone number to ask them why it didn't work and the number I got was 800-675-6486. I called it and a few minutes later was speaking with an individual who informed me that my computer was infected with the Torpig virus. After showing me a bunch of files that had been corrupted he offered to fix everything for $ 199.00. I was warned that all my passwords and information was now in the hands of a hacker. My bank balance could disappear and a hacker could charge on my accounts. Then it dawned on me that maybe my computer was not really at risk an
My older version hasn't expired but I upgrade through Amazon because I wanted to access the password manager. Although I entered in the Keycode and it is recognized in "Ma Account," the password manager doesn;t recognize the new purchase. Was I suppose to delete the old program? This is the thrid program I've purchased and I'm looking forward in managing my passwords accounts. I have "last pass" do I need to delete that program too?

I have a site in internet explorer that requires me to use Prizm Viewer. Webroots log says it monitored the process when i tried to open a file in internet explorer. I guess that was enough to block Prizm Viewer from working. I disable Webroot and it works fine. I enable and Prizm viewer does not work Any help would be appreciated. Hi Under the Shields options there is the option to 'Prevent any program from modifying the HOSTS file'. If I allow a particular program or service under 'Block/Allow Files' will this override the above option i.e. allow that program or service to update the HOSTS file? Else is there another way of whitelisting a particular program or service to achieve this? Or is the only solution to temporarily uncheck that option above? Rgds - Paul
Just purchased Webroot Secure Anywhere with Password Manager. I am having a problem logging into my Secure Anywhere account via the IE or Firefox toolbar icon. Keeps telling me that it does not recognise the email acount I used - even though it is the same account I used to set up the account. Does not matter which browser I use. Can anyone help?
My Essentials Identity and Privacy Protected Applications show the msimn.exe in c:program filesoutlook express and mshtml.dll in c:windowssystem32 buttons as Deny. iexplore.exe in c:program filesinternet explorer show the button as Protect. Shouldn't all three of these show protect since they are all Microsoft products? I even clicked store defaults and they stay the same. My identity shield is on. :8
Ok so I installed webroot yesterday. I observed web browsing was pretty slow and then today big problems hit. I opened a IE session which is about 60 tabs. Usually this would take a few seconds to load and settle down as is a lot of tabs. But bear in mind not all tabs get loaded, as many are left in background. Anyway short story is windows completely became unresponsive, the spinning circle was barely moving, the mouse pointer could be moved but everything was effectively paused, clock stuck etc. So was forced to hard reboot. So I turned off the webshield completely (disabled all 4 options in advanced settings, and the problem was gone. So with IE already running I decided to try one option at a time, and I observed when "detect and block malicious websites" is ticked simply clicking next or back on a google search page causes IE to stop responding for 3-4 seconds, after about 10 clicks the entire windows OS again started becoming l
I can log into my Webroot account without issue. However, when I try to log into the Password Manager in Firefox, i get an error message that indicates my email is unknown. The email I'm using is the same one i use to successfully log into my account. Any suggestions?
Hello All Need a little technical advice as I try to become Norton-free and use Webroot instead. Im having an issue importing and converting passwords from Norton Identity Safe. I did read this article and still cannot get it to work https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/How-to-convert-a-Norton-Passwords-CSV-file-to-a-Webroot-Password/ta-p/37602 I have about 160 passwords so to do it manually or to revisit every site would be a very long process :( Im using Windows 8 & Excel 13, saving file as csv, below is a screen shot example of the format of my csv file (webpage & passwords are examples)..any advice would be greatly apprecited! Hello. I have the same copy of Peerblock installed on my Windows 8.1 tablet, a Dell Venue 8 Pro, and on my Windows 764bit notebook. It is only monitoring the program on the tablet. Why would that be and should i be concerned? thank you
Hello, I installed SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus on my laptop a few days ago and I haven't gotten to check the web console until just now (I've used Webroot products on mobile before and have an account on the web console). Interesting thing is, this aforementioned latest install isn't showing up on the web console. How could that have happened? (another issue: The keycode I entered in my keycode DB on the web console shows that it's only valid for one install, but the "box" says its valid for three installs, or as the box calls it: "Protects 3 devices".)
Team, I've been in the computer industry 30 years. I have a Vista Ultimate laptop with McAfee that got the "your illegal--- pay us money" bug. From the Web I downloaded Webroot and Malwarebytes and was able to fix it. ANY SUGGESTIONS: Is it time to upgrad McAfee--- should I be running a couple of tools in parallel: Webroot & Malwary Bytes? And Ad blocker. Thanks for any suggestions!!!! Randy
Hi all. Unfortunately WRSA is causing some annoying slowdowns for me on two different computers at home. I've posted about the issue on the Wilders Forum (hello any fellow WilderBeasts!) and also have a support ticket open. Angela from the Sydney office has reproduced the issue, but as it seems to be a rare problem a fix has been a long time coming. I'm hoping to see if anyone here has experienced the same problem, as I'm feeling "special" in a bad kind of way :( Firstly, the issue only occurs if one user logs off and another user subsequently logs on. There are no problems when the computers are first switched on. Secondly, the issue is fixed if WRSA is shut down and then restarted. The problem will then only re-appear following another logoff/logon event. Whenever a new or updated program is run, WRSA performs an on-execution scan of any files (exes, dlls etc.) which are loaded. If no logoff/logon has occurred the scan happens at WRSA's normal speed and no slow
