WSA is acting very odd

I posted a few weeks ago about Webroot's scan jumping past "Scanning for Rootkits" and going from 14% complete to 72% complete. (Which is very odd and now how it has acted on any other computer I have it installed on.) Now when I open WSA and click "scan" the program window disappears, I get the list of features in the bottom right corner of the screen that comes with booting and I see two icons in my system tray. Should I re-install? Or if there is something wrong will reinstall not help me?

Hello there, welcome back.

Once in a while I have had the 'two icons in the system tray' happen, usually when a program update has rolled out.  Roll your mouse over them both and see if one of them goes away.  I do not know if an update has been released today, but when they do come out they are usually pretty much silent: you never see them as it does it automatically in the background and it only takes a few seconds.

If the double icon does NOT go away with a mouse over them both, go ahead and do a reinstall.

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again

Let us know if this doesn't help!
