I cannot install the latest Webroot WiFi Security App on my Windows 10 laptop. When I download the .exe from here... https://www.webroot.com/us/en/home/products/wifi-installer-download it will not install. An error message pops up along with a chime but the message appears so quick that I'm unable to read it. I have tried running it with Administrator privileges, as well, but still no joy. :( The funny thing is, I can install an older version of the app (18.104.22.168) which still works, but it keeps telling me to download the updated version. Whether I download the update from within the app or from the link above, it will not install. Would it be possible for another member to try downloading the WiFi app for Windows from the above source and tell me if you're able to install it. If you can, then it's something on my end. If you can't then it's something on Webroot's end. Thanks in advance,
I have a five device subscription. I've uninstalled Wi-Fi Security from one device (a rarely used laptop) so I could install it on a new device, a tablet. No problem downloading it to the tablet, but I can't sign in because I'm getting a message saying I have "too many open sessions and need to log out of one of my devices." Obviously Webroot can't recognize that I've uninstalled the VPN softwarefrom a device that previously had it. And it wasn't even logged in when I uninstalled it. Yikes. How to proceed is the question!
A few bugs and misunderstandings: I just reinstalled, entered my credentials and logged in. I see message that it will run in the backgound and then go to the connect screen. I set my preferences to use US West, and press connect. The little circle around the American Flag starts to spin, and the orange box says CONNECTING... "Connect to" say Automatic. After about 15 seconds the spinning stops and the Orange button goes back to Connect. Nothing happens, or so it seems. BUT.... Then I get a Notificaiton pop-up (Android notifcation area) that says; "WiFi Security: VPN connection is active. You are now protected wth VPN." Except, it is not connected as the app is asking me to connect and is not showing the connected screen. The small key is not showing in the top status bar. Seems like a few differend bugs here. After trying different locaitons, multiple atempts, I noticed that I was not on Wifi, just connected via th
My laptop is a back-up for my desktop so it is essential that I be able to use my w-fi to back up my desktop to my laptop. Since installing Webroot's VPN on both, my laptop can no longer "see" my desktop via my wi-fi, even after disconnecting the vpn. This is a big deal for me. On a seemingly unrelated note, the VPN on my laptop won't connect anyway since I restarted my laptop the first time after the install.. I jumped through hoops to install this, as it sounded GREAT. After a decade with Webroot this is the first time I'm tempted to chuck a bit of software. Help, please?
This bug was reported a year ago in a Windows environment, but I’m reporting that it still exists in a MacOS environment. Exactly the same behavior: When attempting to add a trusted wi-fi network the application crashes. Has anyone been able to resolve the issue?
I'm new to VPN and the WiFi Security product. I just installed it yesterday and have tried to torrent in safety. Each torrent site I've tried gives me the "This Site Can't be Reached" error. I''m using the Automatic Location connection. What do I need to do to be able to connect to torrent sites?
I’m starting to get upset that I made the really wrong choice about this security group. I thought it came with fairly decent rep but beginning to wonder now. Feeling a bit “snookered” at the moment; money paid “no refunds” and I left with a partially working program. Set out a help ticket request, talked to a “tech” personally on the phone, and I still have unresolved issue. How long does it really take to get appropriate assistance (after all one of the “features” touted on this security program)? The most expensive part of the program - interestingly enough - my WiFi Security program is totally non functional and one person has already “tip-toed” around in my computer and couldn’t “fix” or “find the issue.”
I have downloaded & Installed Webroot Wifi Security to all my Apple devises. I now installed it to my PC. It would not let me sign-in. So I tried to register it. It would not let me use the user name I had for my other devices. Made me register it with my e-mail address. Would not send me a verification e-mail. Said I already had my address registered. (Yes, with my Anywhere acct,). When I logged into my tablet it had changed my user name to my e-mail address. I can log in to my Apple devices but not my Mcrosoft 7 PC. How do I solve this problem? Best regards, Gerard
I’ve noticed that the Quit option is only accessed from the hidden icons list, but “WiFiSecurity.Service” continues to run in the background and use 30,980K of memory according to Windows Task Manager. If I End Now from the WTM, it dies down to ~16,300K of memory. What’s up with this?
Hello, I purchased Webroot some time ago after reading this review I think it's great and I like the services very much. But I just noticed that you as well offer VPN services. Currently I'm using Surfshark that has CleanWeb feature that works like a malware/tracker/phishing protection and an adBlock as well. Does Webroot WiFi Security VPN provide similar features? If you have adBlock and tracker/malware protection implemented I would consider switching since I like your antivirus very much. And what protocol does it use on Android devices? Thank you.
“Check your credentials and try again. If you have not yet verified your account using the verification email, you must do so before logging in.” I’ve been a Webroot customer on and off for a couple of years- but I recently bought a subscription to the computer security. I decided to purchase the VPN (WiFi Security) upgrade but cannot log in to the WiFi securty on my phone or computer because it’s claiming that I have not verified my email. There are no verification emails that have not been clicked- I’m not sure how to proceed, but I need to get this done to continue working from my home office.
Unless something is installed incorrectly, which I’ve read numerous reviews similar to my issue, I wanted to see if I can return the VPN package I purchased. I’ve tested it for 2 days now and it messes up on my phone and computer. I can’t use it if I wanted to because it slows my computer down so bad that almost nothing works, plus it hardly connects and stays connected. My school and job won’t allow it. I don’t think it’s any other issue considering the reviews I read. I wasn’t aware that Webroot is also new to this which explains it. When I run a speed test without being connected to the VPN my Mbps is always around 37, and when I’m connected it’s usually around 5 Mbps or lower
WiFi Security connection failure. Previous version was fine, just paid $85 (WITH TAXES) and can’t get online unless I disconnect Security. Webroot was awesome until it changed hands. Now I will not be renewing my subscription and will file a complaint with Paypal that I used to renew WiFi Security. Run like hell people!!!
I downloaded the app to my iPad. I was able to get the app to open and function yesterday. I set it on stay connected. Today; the app was not connected and not signed in. I tried several times to connect but it times me out saying an unexpected error occurred. I deleted then reloaded and the same result. I have not changed any settings. The app is working fine in my iPhone.
My understanding is that I’m allowed to install Webroot Wi-Fi security on a maximum of three devices. I’ve had Webroot Wi-Fi Security installed on two devices (PC and laptop) for some time now with no problems. Recently my PC had a new hard drive fitted. Now I’m getting a ‘too many open sessions’ message on the Wi-Fi app on my PC - I’m assuming this may be something to do with the new hard drive being treated as a new device, even though this would stilll bring it up to three devices only. I’ve tried logging out of Wi-Fi security on my laptop and still receive this message on the Wi-Fi security on the PC. I’ve tried shutting down the laptop completely as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the app on my PC with the same result - still ‘too many open sessions’. I’ve also created a Webroot customer support ticket (twice) over the issue but have yet to receive any reply. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can rectify the problem I have with the PC?
