One year ago yesterday, Edward Snowden became one of the most famous people on the planet...And one of the most wanted, as well. Currently in Russia with asylum status, he's given a couple of interviews and spoke at this year's SXSW (via a video feed) since his big reveal and while his revelation pace has slowed down, few people believe he is done. But what's changed since his massive disclosure? Below are two great articles regarding what security experts (including our own CEO Dick Williams), think of the matter.

I actually think that a lot of good has come from his revelations. He blew the lid of what has been going under the guise of national security. I don't think anyone is naive enough though to think the public wasn't being spied on but the amount of it was going on while being legally allowed to shocked a lot of people. The end result being that there is a lot less trust now in industry, with the emphasis these days going towards encryption. In time when the dust has settled I would expect there will still be undercover things going on but in general things should be more secure with companies using more secure encryption techniques.
