Interesting (and at the same time troublesome) security story from across the pond.

According to a survey done by public-private internet safety initiative 'Get Safe Online', more than 50% of UK citizens have fallen victim to online crime. That's an incredible stat. The survey also revealed that half of the UK population now sees cyber crime on the same level of of severity as physical crime.

This story was reported by various sources and our very own Director of Product Marketing George Anderson's quotes were featured in three major articles. He called the numbers "sad, but not surprising." He expanded on that point:

"The Internet has become assimilated into our daily lives, from banking to retail, to the point where it's easy to forget how hazardous it is if the proper security measures aren't taken," he said. "The key to making the UK a safe Internet user zone is education. As a country, as communities and as individuals we should be actively promoting awareness of Internet safety and security issues."
