Question

I read that when you need to use the Scream feature to find your phone in the house you need to send your phone an SMS.  How do you send your phone an SMS if it's lost and you cant make an SMS?

Answer

There are a couple of ways to cause the phone to scream.

The first method is to log in to your online account, select "Mobile Security," click on your phone, and select the "Lost Device Protection" tab.  You will then see a button you can select to send the SCREAM command as well as the other options available to you.

Another way to do this is via your cellular provider's website or another smartphone.  Most cellular providers allow you to send SMS messages from your account page.  To do it via SMS, text your number with "scream password" (replacing password with your Webroot password).
