This is probably true but is not that why iPhones are made so solid and stiff? How many people will repair an iPhone costing more than 600€ at home? Only a few geeks. The majority will bring it to a repair shop where they are fully equipped. I for one prefer to have a solid device made of excellent materials yes without possibility to fix it myself than a plastic creaky device like for instance Samsung phones are.

Yes, that's negative side of thing but you get from one to two years warranty (differs per countries) at buy, so all repairs are free of charge within this period. You can also buy a prolonged warranty, if you want. If something breaks later usually nowadays repair is not worth and it is better to buy a new product.
