Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt on Thursday predicted the end of the Internet as we know it.
At the end of a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where his comments were webcast, he was asked for his prediction on the future of the Web. “I will answer very simply that the Internet will disappear,” Schmidt said.

And by what special insight does he have that revelation...what a laughable and presumptuous statement from a relative nobody...I think that I would be crying if I wasn't laughing so much at this stupidity.

I think he explained it wrong. Used the wrong words.
The internet will be all around us. We will not have "to get on the internet" as many people still do, but all of our devices will be constantly connected to it.
