getting hsrd in front of yahoo

Hi all...I need help.   Seems hsrd yahoo took over browser?

seeing hsrd yahoo browser hijacked...how to fixx?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
 
hsrd.yahoo.com is a non-malware program we commonly refer to as a PUA or Potentially Unwanted Application.
 
As you have unfortunately found out this and most other PUAs are very annoying at best in that they cause pop-ups, redirect your browser home page, and other behaviour that may slow down the computer and direct ads your way, but they are not actually doing anything bad like damaging files or stealing information.
 
As a by the by these are often installed intentionally by the user as browser add-ons for various tasks such as quick search tools. But they also come with the result of added annoying pop-ups and ads. Other times they 'piggy back' with other software that you installed, or try to 'sneak' onto ones system.
 
The key to avoiding them is to make sure that when downloading apps one does so from the author's own website or one that they have recommended, and not 3rd party downloading site.
 
WSA does detect and remove many PUA's, and more are being added, but WSA does not detect all of them. A simple browser add-on with PUA behaviour that is easy to identify and easy to remove is not likely to be detected and removed by WSA. Those that are intentionally difficult to locate and remove are. Please see THIS LINK for more information regarding Webroot's stance on these annoying programs.
 
If you feel or consider yourself technically proficient then you can try these steps to remove it from your system..
 
However, if that does not work or you do not feel technically capable then the best thing to do is to Open a Support Ticket & ask Webroot Support to take a look and remove these for you.  There is NO CHARGE for this for valid WSA license holder.

You are most welcome.  Hopefully the instructions provided re. how to deal with the changes to browsers has been of use, as from what I can see the 'crapware' is mainly focused on that aspect.  Other PUAs can burrow quite deeply into a system and can be a real pain to remove, etc.

From what I have read about this the most likely issue is that your home page is set to a URL on hsrd.yahoo.comhttp://'http//hsrd.yahoo.com' and what you need to do is to go to your browser settings and reset your home page from this.
 
Also, to hsrd.yahoo.com from your internet browser application, in this example let's use Internet Explorer you would need to go to 'Internet Options', then find the 'Advanced' tab, open it and then click on 'Reset, followed by 'OK'.  Then exit IE and restart it.  All being well that should have removed hsrd.yahoo.com.
 
Finally, reboot and check IE again to make sure that the 'crapware' has been removed.
 
Now, this should work for IE but if you are using another browser then you will need to do the equivalent for that.

The process for Firefox or Mozilla derivative browsers is similar, as follows; from the Firefox menu (three horizontal lines in top right corner) , click on 'Help' (which should be at the bottom of the meu and is designated by a '?' in a circle) & then click on 'Troubleshooting Information'. From the window displayed press the 'Reset/Refresh Firefox' button to reset Firefox to its default state (should be in the top right hand corner of the Troubleshooting page). Press the button again, and after resetting Firefox should restart.
 
At that point I would check to see if your have successfully removed hsrd.yahoo.com, and then as for IE I would reboot and check again.
 
If that does not sort it for you then I would Open the Support Ticket as I suggested in my first post, as you had best get the Support Team professionals to take a look for you.
