Re: Mounted drives scanning regardless of Advanced Options setting

Hi, all...

Just a quick update to let you know that Webroot SecureAnywhere for Mac version 9.0.7.50 has been released to the general public.  My Mac updated automatically.  I can confirm that the scanning mounted drives issue is no longer present.  I checked Time Machine and USB drives.

All is right in the world again. Smiley Happy

Thank you for taking care of this so quickly, Webroot!!

Hope this helps,

Re: Mounted drives scanning regardless of Advanced Options setting

Hello jphwop75,

Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

There will be a new Mac Webroot release that will fix the scanning of mounted drives. If you could just hang in there for abit longer this will be taken care of as soon as the testing is finished of the new Mac Webroot Version.

Also you can Submit a Support Ticket and they will take a look at this for you.

Edited: @SophiaC are you able to add anything here? Smiley Happy

Thanks!

Re: Mounted drives scanning regardless of Advanced Options setting

Hi,

The fix is released to the public.  Due to the nature of updating, some machines will update sooner and some will update later.

If you have not received the update yet, you can get on the newest version sooner by uninstalling and reinstalling.  If you want to do this, make sure you write down your keycode before uninstalling if you don't have it on record.

To find your keycode:

  1. Open the SecureAnywhere interface (click the Webroot icon in the menu bar, then select Open Webroot SecureAnywhere from the drop-down menu).
  2. From the main window, click My Account.

Installation instructions:

Kind regards,

Hello,

Please go into MY Account within the Webroot GUI and Check for Updates and you should get the new version that solves this issue! Please look here for more info on the latest version: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Product-Releases/Product-Update-Mac-Version-9-0-7-50/td-p/315208

If that doesn't work you can try a clean reinstall:

To uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere, follow the instructions below.

  1. Shut down SecureAnywhere by clicking the Webroot icon  in the menu bar and selecting Shut Down SecureAnywhere.

If prompted, confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere.

  2. Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the dock.

  3. Open the Applications directory.

  4. Click and drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere program icon into the Trash  in the dock.

A confirming window appears.  Click Uninstall.

Webroot SecureAnywhere is now uninstalled.  There is no need to restart your computer.

Reinstall Webroot

You can install SecureAnywhere on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. An Internet connection is required to install the software.

To install the software:

  1. Click here to download the SecureAnywhere  installer to your Mac. Or Click here if you have the Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription service.
  2. Double-click wsamac.dmg to open the installer.
  3. Drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon into the Applications folder.

  4. Open the Applications folder by double-clicking the folder icon.

  5. In the Applications folder, double-click the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon to begin activation.

  6. In the first activation window, select a language from the drop-down box and click Next.

Note: Make sure you select the desired language. Once SecureAnywhere installs. you cannot change it.

  7. In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.

Your keycode is the 20-character license that identifies your account. If you purchased the product online, the keycode is provided in an email from Webroot. If you purchased the product in a store, the keycode is provided in the retail box. In addition, the keycode identifies whether you purchased a multi-user license, which allows you to install SecureAnywhere on up to three or five Macs.

Thanks,

Daniel
