How much time should I take to Back up and Up date my computer ?

Whilst in general the time taken for a backup process to run should take roughly the same time each time it occurs, the actual time overall will depend on a number of things such as how much data you have to back up, what backup method you are using, what software you are using to do the back, how powerful your system is, etc.
 
So it is hard to say with certainty other than it should take roughly the same time each time...unless the amount of data involved is changing significantly between backups.
 
If you can advise as to what type of backup you are doing, how much data you have, what backup software you are using, the times you are seeing, etc. then perhaps we can advise further on this.
 
Not sure what you mean by 'update' in this context; Windows Update? So again a little more detail as to where this fits into the overall picture would help us to offer some guidance.
