Where are Webroot scan parameters stored - on my home PC, or on the Webroot server?

I’ve used Webroot for years - happily.  Within the last week, the full scan seems to take about twice as long, around 10 minutes instead of 4-5 minutes.  I am wondering:

  1.  Is a file of suspect websites and other scanning match targets kept on my home PC, or
  2.  Are the match targets kept on the Webroot server?

This morning’s scan said something like “using Webroot database.”  I have never noticed that wording before.   I glanced at my residential gateway (modem) and the fiber-to-local converter box, and both indicated high activity - lots of flashing green lights.  I interpret this to mean that files on my PC are being compared to the Webroot server, not to a file kept on my home PC.

Recently I added Visual Studio to my PC, and one or two other software items that suddenly seem to be taking up a lot of space.  (I’m doing a lot of  personal training using LinkedIn Learning, and in some cases downloading LIL’s provided example tiles.)  These items might be the cause of the extended scan time.

I still have plenty of available space.

Opinions are welcome and invited.  Thanks.

If you would like to Save a Scan Log then you can look at the files that have been Scanned.

[U] means Unknown to the Webroot Cloud Database

[G] means marked Good in the Webroot Cloud Database

Example:

Some legitimate files are not included in this log
[U] D:\Program Files\Revo Uninstaller\revouninproport405\RevoUninstallerPro_Portable\x86\RevoUnPro.exe [SHA256: 4BE42B246ADF5ED14401E1CCD9302F9451350EC491A0B909EC3C61B56872EEEC] [MD5: B829563A316D310415D7B8B3DA5A4D8F] [Flags: 00081001.47138]
[G] C:\Windows\sysnative\smss.exe [SHA256: D44C73818B0CF757A1D07274013BAA87F36EBF9C59BEC8972FEA08C6CFB03862] [MD5: 54A7E1168CF0D30D449462DA5FC5A600] [Flags: 00111400.21680]

So if you see lots of [U]’s then contacting support via the Ticket system is best and ask them to whitelist your Unknown files!
