View originalscanned .js file that contained zepto ransomware. webroot failed to detect it. is this common?
Subject says it all. Is webroot not designed to catch ransomware? Thanks for your thoughts.

The .js file would not be detected, but they malicious payload that would be downloaded if you were to run the .js file should be detected.@ wrote:

Thanks Dan. I did launch the .js file to determine if Webroot would catch it before zepto took over. Unfortunately webroot did nothing and all documents got encrypted. Fortunately this was on a test laptop, so I just did a system reset and am back in business.
Ugh. If you still happen to have the .js file please submit it. You can do so through WSA Under Utilities | Reports | Submit files - or you can just go to http://snup.webrootcloudav.com/SkyStoreFileUploader/upload.aspx and we can make sure we get the payload added.
