wrkrn.sys/0xc000007b error couldn't boot - took over 2 hrs to fix - may not renew webroot

Thankfully, I knew enough to figure out what happened to my son's system when it wouldn't boot - bad wrkrn.sys file.  But he had to drove home almost an hour from school and it took two hours out of my work day to fix the problem.  
 
Has this been fixed?  Is it going to happen to our other computers, randomly?
 
I am seriously considering another antivirus software.
