documentation for password protection setup?
new to webroot ... am looking for explanation of items required to set up password protection. thanks!

Welcome to the Community Forums.
I am not really sure I understand what you are asking for but will give it a go based on what I think that you are referring to, ands that this relates to a PC or Mac rather than a phone.
If you are looking for protection for your passwords and other sensitive data when you enter then, i.e., from a hacker being able to retrieve them or log them whilst they are being entered then you are protected by default by the Identity Shield feature of WSA (see here for more information).
If that is not what you are referring to then pelase post back with a more detailed explanation of what it is that you need help with.
