Recently received a PM on Facebook (supposedly from a friend), which had a link to a video.  I foolishly clicked on it and later was told it was a trojan.  None of my friends have reported getting one from me.  Would I need to download and run somthing like malwarebytes or will Webroot protect me?

Hello Pekepal, Welcome to the Webroot Community Forum, :D

Yes you should be protected. To be on the safe side I would submit a Support Ticket or Contact Webroot Support
This is a FREE Service with a Paid Subscription.

Hi Pekepal,

My wife fell victim to a similar scenario. The PM came from a friend and said "remeber this photo?" with a link and nothing else. She clicked on the link and the Facebook login came up, she entered her info (that's what they were after) and the link resulted in a blank page. There was no trojan or malware, but they now had her password. So I would suggest you change your FB paswword and ask your friends to let you know if they receive any similar phishing PM's that appear to be from you.

Edit: I also recommend submiting that trouble ticket, as ? suggested, as well. Just to be safe.;)

Hope this info helps,
BD
