Unity API - Open API preview release

As part of making it easier to use the Unity API we have released a preview version of Open API support. Here are a few details. Unity API users can now start with a documented ‘API library’ instead of having to set everything up from scratch, making it easier to generate code/scripts, use testing tools and self-educate. Open API is supported by loads of tools. 400 error retrieving threathistory

I am able to authenticate and use token to get sites (/service/api/console/gsm/{gsm}/sites), then endpoints (/service/api/console/gsm/{siteKey}/sites/{siteId}/endpoints) however; when I attempt to call threathistory I get the following. Is there a place to get useful info from the error? Is the threathistory api still active?

Forbidden/Unauthorized Accessing Child Sites

I am trying to consume webroot console api methods. I am able to successfully authenticate, obtain a token, then use the token to consume the /service/api/console/gsm/{parentKey}/sites to obtain a list of child sites. Whenever I attempt to consume any api call for the child sites I get an unauthorized response. I am replacing the {gsm} variable with the AccountKeyCode and the {siteId} with the SiteId property of sites being returned. I have also tried using the parent gsm and get the same result. The AccountKeyCode property returned by the /service/api/console/gsm/{parentKey}/sites doesn’t have the “-”s in it. So I tried both with and without. There must be something obvious I’m missing about calling API methods for child sites. Please help. FWIW, I’m using C# to access the API and I am not using the SDK.

Validating the key in use on an endpoint

I made a relatively big discovery today, and would like to share. It may greatly help those developing their own API scripts. For some time support has said that there is no way to determine the key in use on a particular system systematically. The only information available is the HPL Key value in the registry at “HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\WRData\HPL” and this is an encrypted value for the key, so it isn’t possible to determine the key in use, although it would be the same value for all endpoints in a site. I discovered that this isn’t entirely true. The HPL registry key is a MD5 hash of the site key (without dashes). So while you can’t determine the site key from the MD5 hash, you can verify the MD5 hash if you have the site key. Since querying endpoint information via the API requires the Site ID as well, it was not possible previously to systematically determine the site ID required without using and providing a site name match. Hello everyone,, As the Qts. When you use an API, you're using an interface that lets the program you write control or access a program somebody else wrote. As an analogy, suppose your program is a robot and you want your robot to get into a car and drive across the city. When you drive a car, do you care how it works inside? Do you care if it's a V6 or V8? That it's a traditional gas engine, a disel, or a hybrid? All of those things affect how the car works, but those aren't the interface. The interface of a car is the steering wheel, gearshift, and pedals - plus all of the other levers and controls to access all of the car's other functions. So if you were hypothetically building a robot to control a car, you don't have to teach it how an internal combustion engine works. You have to teach it how to accelerate, brake, steer, and shift gears, by working those controls. So now let's relate this back to a programming example. Twitter has an API. Powershell script that provides an additional method of sending/managing Webroot Agent Commands and usage reports via Unity API.

Hello,In my down time I’ve been messing around with some powershell scripting. During this time I created the following script to allow an additional method of sending Agent Commands, changing Agent policies, or running basic usage reports using the Webroot.This script can be converted to an exe quite easily and used in that manner as well if desired.Unfortunately due to the length of the script exceeding character limits here, I’ve had to post it to Github. Refresh Token expires in 5 mins instead of 14 days

Hi, I hope everyone is doing well.. Ive got an issue with the refresh token as it expires in 5 mins instead of 14 days. As per this guide it should expire in 14 days: https://unityapi.webrootcloudav.com/Docs/en/APIDoc/Guide#guide-authentication-accessAndRefreshTokens Here is what im doing to test this: 1) get Access Token with: header contains = `Authorization: basic *****` body contains = username, password, grant_type='password', scope 2) get refresh token with: header contains = `Authorization: basic *****` body contains = refresh token (from step 1) grant_type='refresh_token', scope and before you ask: im passing same scope! So did I miss anything? or did anything wrong? Please help.. The string needs to be made up of one or more name and version pairs separated by a whitespace character (e.g. "MyCustomApplication/1.2.759 ThirdpartyPlatform/1.0.r3"), according to the HTTP/1.1 standard. Please be aware that Webroot reserves the right to reject Unity API requests that do not follow above requirement anytime in the future. Identifying your application is important and enables Webroot to provide a more targeted and streamlined API experience. How to get paginated results in the `console/gsm/{k}/sites` call?

Hi, Was wondering if there is a way to get paginated results when calling the api hook: /console/gsm/{k}/sites/? Ive tried adding the param `pageSize=10&pageNr=1`, but it doesnt work. Cheers

gateway timeouts / rate limits

I'm querying the API for sites and then each site for its endpoints, after about 4-5 queries I started getting a gateway timeout and now even trying to get a token times out. Are there ongoing issues or is there some type of rate limit I should be following? I'm not getting a 429 so I'm leaning towards ongoing issues but figured I'd check anyways.
