Received an email from a close friend with message about linked photos. Link took me to a website about Oprah. When contacted, friend said he did not send email. Upon inspection, found several other similar emails in Span folder from same friend. Question is, if there was a malware or other bad thing attached to the email, can Webroot detect and clear it?
I noticed the Green check marks that appear during searches were missing so I went to the Windows Icon to get to webroot and I had two listings for webroot I deleted one because I thought that the older one was a duplicate or older version. But the webroot that is left is not a shortcut to open the webroot app. When I turn on Computer I get a windows menu box that says how do you want to open file. I think that is the webroot that I have now but it never opens I tried deleting the webroot that shows up in my computer but it will not delete and says there needs to be an app to delete I tried to download Webroot again from internet but it did not open and so I would click on the download and then it would just make copies and so I had like five copies then I tried to delete these copies PLease help thanks
Something on my laptop is blocking my access to certain secure sites including my Webroot Secure Anywhere account and my Yahoo email. I’m able to access those sites using other devices that are NOT protected by Webroot. Already cleared Cache and Cookies. Tried disabling firewall and Indentity protection. What else can I try?
3 days ago Adobe reader failed and gave a message saying the .dll in the title was not available. I couldn’t fix that after trying for hours. I finally restored my entire C:\ from a backup I had from June.Everything worked although some files I had created since June were missing.Today I am back to getting that same message from Adobe Reader.I went to UN-install Adobe reader, sorted by date of install and discovered that yesterdayFirefox had installed “Mozilla Maintenance Service” and “Mozilla Firefox”.My Webroot scan does not report any problem. This is a Windows7 Pro system. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks,Dan
I recently noticed that my LastPass is now the free account (even though I have the Webroot Anywhere with 5 devices). It used to be premium but not anymore.I’ve tried going to My Account to sign in. Following the link opens a carbonite “create account”.I enter the keycode I have, but I get the error message that states that the keycode is already associated with another account. It’s very frustrating. All the links and previous how-to’s are dated and do not reflect the new changes.Appreciate any help on the matter.
Hi Webroot Community! I'm Cat, your new Community Manager. Although I'm originally from Michigan, I happily joined the amazing Webroot team out in Colorado over the last year with a goal of creating a single online space for us to interact with our community! I'm really looking forward to meeting you in our new online community and learning your thoughts on internet security. (Yes, the good AND the bad.) I'll probably even chime in on the forums from time to time. Now you have a whole new playground to share your thoughts, ideas and get a say on how to create the most revolutionizing security product out there! (We may even reward you along the way...) I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it! Please feel free to send me a message any time to give me feedback on the Webroot Community or ask me a question. Happy...reading, voting, posting!
Hello, I'm Alex. I'm a Colorado native, marketing writer, and sushi enthusiast who you'll see on the Webroot Community pretty often. Most of the things you'll see me write are in the form of tips and tricks, security news, and rumors and myths - all of which, I'm proud to say, are focused on improving the conversation on an otherwise boring/stressful subject: online security. I'm here to help. So if there's something you'd like to know about, please let me know in the Discussion section of the Webroot Community.
Although I'm a technical person and a complete nerd I gravitate toward the arts and view the sciences as it's own art form. I love foriegn and art films, comic books, british indie music, craft beer, video games and just fixing things in general. I get a sense of accomplishment from figuring out something that is completely outside of my realm of comfort. I'm not scared to fix my furnace, mend my fence or repair some plumbing as long as I have enough time to research and have the tools for the job. Bottom line, I love figuring out convoluted things! -Nathan Mills
