Cheetah Mobile: ‘Ghost Push’ Android virus infects 600k+ users a day with unwanted apps

[url=http://www.cmcm.com/blog/en/security/2015-09-18/799.html]According to Cheetah Mobile’s security research lab[/url], there’s a new virus that is spreading pretty quickly — by the firm’s estimates, it’s infecting more than 600,000 users each day.   Called “Ghost Push,” it’s believed to be delivered via malware and is spread through commercial SDK or browser ads. Cheetah Mobile said that it has “affected 14,847 phone types and 3,658 brands.” Once on a device, the virus will install unwanted and annoying apps on your phone and is said to be pretty difficult to remove, even if you’re using an antivirus software or doing a factory reset. Just ran system analyzer and got 100/100 score. Only comment was Graphics ram is low and hindering

Hi everyone,  just registered for community about  20 minutes ago.  I am not very knowledgable about computers.  Just enough to be the tech guy at my house, and to get to solve our problems.  I just ran a system optimizer scan of my laptop, and received a 100/100 score.  The only issue: graphics ram is low and effecting performance.  How do I do something about this. I only play arcade games and lately they have been hanging up and shutting down.  It could be the games are not that good. I get the free games from Win Tangent, and Webroot gives them a suspicious rating.  Some games from other sources perform  well.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.   Thanks Joe Gunto

Unconventional Malvertising Attack Uses New Tricks

[b]September 18, 2015 | BY Jérôme Segura[/b] A few days ago we spotted an interesting malvertising attack that was unlike others we had seen before. What made it unique was the multi-stage delivery of a Flash exploit via a seemingly benign XML file. The advert itself is Flash-based and promotes a game called “Sparta – War of Empires”. However, there were several red flags with this ad that most ad networks would (or should) immediately notice. For instance, when loading the Flash animation, ActionScript code called out an external URL. I have had just a terrible time with Windows 10 Anyone else having problems?

Hi I am Becky and I have had Webroot for a year.  Last week I woke up to a terrible site!  Windows 10 had been installed while I slept.  Microsoft techs have been working for days,  they still do not have all the bugs out.   Finally I had them take me back to 8.1.  Anyone else out there having any of these problems?  One of Microsoft techs told me they are so overworked that they have a two hour wait for phone calls!     Nice to meet all you Rooters, I am not much of a techie, i am too old to have grown up around computers.   Just learned a little in my later years.           So I no doubt I will be here from time to time asking some sort of silly question,.      Everyone have a good day.     Rebecca Johnson     [Edited for privacy]

I received my new Webroot Disc after renewing, which number Is my renewal key?

My name is Rebecca , I had Geek Squak and Woobroot software for the last year.  I bust renewed my Woobroot and received my new software disc in the mail.  I put it in thinking it would update my Webroot that was overdue bye two weeks.  I had gotten email saying I still had time to renew it, and that it was I did.  But now when I installed the disc they are asking for my Key Number.  There are two different numbers on the front of software package, which one is the key number?  I have had my computer for one year and two weeks.  It is a Lenovo Thinkpad.  I have not had any problems at all with it .  It Had the 8.1 operating system.  This is what had happened.  Windows would automatically update me.  They sent me Windows 10 and installed it in my computer at night when I was sleeping.  I woke in the morning to a NIGHTMARE.  No kidding. Microsoft techs have worked on computer for two days.  They ended up taking off

Critical Flaw in Bugzilla Could Expose Zero-Day Bugs

Would you believe that I’d been busily scouring the internet for hours, searching out a good recipe to present to you fine folks, when my utterly non-culinary copywriting counterpart suggested the simplest thing in the world, which I hadn’t even considered? D-Link accidentally leaks code-signing certs in its firmware
