So i had some virus on my laptop that was making my IE stop working. so i got a free trail subscription of webroot and started scanning. everytime i scanned it would tell me it found a virus and try to start removing it...it never did so i asked webroot tech support and they set up a remote acess thing for the next day.......he never showed up so we reset it for the next day......he still didnt show up. by the time we actually had a date that he was there my subscription had already expired....so he surposedly took the virus off and rebooted it, yet when i went on the internet all my favorites were gone. spent 2 years collecting them and now they gone. plus i STILL can't change my date and time or use some of the functions on my control panel. plus my internet browzer still stops working everytime i use it......so i have thought about just restoring to factory settings after i use a flash drive to back up my data. but i need to find out how to get my favorites back. the we
Made you look! Hi, my name is Jim, i've been using Webroot for a couple years now and swear by it with anyone who asks me what I use for protection re infowebsurfness. I want to join the beta testing program...I built my first computer from a Heathkit in 1983 and have built I think 7 desktop systems for myself over the years, but I'm not really a tech dweeb, just like to put things together and figure them out. I've been an actor, USAF Academy cadet, writer, photographer, book author, magazine editor in my career. Currently (still!) learning stock market trading to supplement the pitiful stipend they call Social "Security" and a modest Screen Actor's Guild pension. Wishing anyone who reads this a happy holiday season for the end of 2017. thanks JIm
My wait time to get some f#*%$^!g is 35 minutes! The other day it was 20 and I hung up because I thought I figured it out. People pay for your product and the company should be available to help. If I am instaling malware the odds are that my computer is not working superbly well so why the f#&k would I want to use it! Thanks for wasting my time, will not be buying your products in the future and possibly returning this one if when I finally do talk to someone they are useless.
Hi. I'm Jaramya. Live in Dallas. Am reasonably good on the pc with Microsoft office software but new to tablets. Started off with Amazon Fire 8 and the learning curve is driving me nuts. I am a "when all else fails, read the directions" kind of person . I want to just jump right in and do what I know I should be able to do when I can't, I fall back to my pc, which makes my learning that much longer? .Just sayin' Happy to be part of this community.
Now, after I’ve Signed Up and created a new account on Carbonite+Webroot, because this is where the "Get Started" button led to, the alert keeps appearing down to the right corner of the screen, non stop. This is the text of the alertWebroot "Sign up for My Account Manage Subscriptions, access support and more by creating a My Account profile." How do I stop this alert?
Hi, the IT department of the college that I attend just issued a warning that at least one computer has been attacked by CryptoWall (which apparently encrypts all files on your C drive and you have to pay to get them back). Does anyone know if WebRoot protects against this threat? Thanks! AdM
Hi. I have accidently removed the tablet from the list in my accoun on Webroot website. All the software is intact on the device so I do not need to download it - I can't anyway because Play store shows it is installed already and the device itself won't let me uninstall it. So how can I reactivate it (add it) to my account on the website? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Lenovo 2019 Premium Flagship ThinkPad E590 Purchased: 1/8/20 Delivered: 1/11/20 Set-up: 1/12/20 I tried to install Webroot Internet Security Complete on my new computer. Instead of using the website listed on my email receipt from Webroot, I did a search for Webroot on the internet. I ended up on a bogus site. I asked for help installing Webroot on the computer. The person who I spoke to said that he would have to do a complete scan of my computer. I gave him permission. At the end of the scan he showed me that I had approximately 10 areas where my modem/router was hacked. He said that he was a member of the Geek Squad and that Best Buy owns Webroot. He also said that he could arrange for a technician to come to my house to install a machine to remove the hacks. The machine would be in my house for 4 or 5 days. At the end of that time the technician would return to remove the machine. I would only be charged $50. For security he said that he would need to hold the cost of the
Hello everyone, It's nice to find you and as I expect I shall be here often, a short intro may be in order. I'm not new to computers but most assuredly new to (and exasperated with) Windows 8. After all, I'm an old lady and was raised with the notion that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I see no need for CHARMS, nor for it to take 4 clicks to shut my computer down, ahh but there you are, eh? Sometimes change really sucks. Here's a huge aggrivation with this new computer: It came with Norton on it, but I purchased Webroot for obvious reasons. I allowed Norton to expire, installed Webroot, and NOW I keep getting Norton's annoying popup asking me to upgrade. I do NOT WANT TO. I have no need to. I have Webroot and so far all is well (except for detesting Windows 8, ugh) Please, anyone, how the heck do I remove unwanted Trial popups? With this new Windows 8 configuration, I can barely navigate around my own computer, so I am truly at your mercy here. Let
