Webroot missed Trojan:O97M/Sonbokli.A!cl - which then infected client computers
Just a heads up, my business email account suspiciously sent out numerous emails yesterday morning to clients with a Word doc attachment. The attachment contained the above mentioned trojan which also goes by: W97M.POWLOAD.NSFGAICR, or W97M.Downloader Specific details here: https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/au/threat-encyclopedia/malware/trojan.w97m.powload.nsfgaicr Webroot did not catch this on my system during numerous system scans on multiple devices. I had to reinstall my OS for other reasons (the wonders of Bootcamp), so subsequent scans with Webroot, Trend Micro and Windows Defender are clean. But by then the damage was done. The source was Russia, and by then they had the email password and access to my account, which means they knew who I'd been recently communicating with. Malicious emails were sent to people I'd had recent
Initial Scan Taking Full Days
Hello, Been running Webroot on my Windows machine happily for a few years now. Added it to my Macbook to consolidate bills after Bitdefender sub ended. The initial/full scan is in my user library directory and is now at 24+ hours and counting. Should the library directory be excluded from the scan? This incomplete initial scan has probably run for longer than all my other system scans combined. MBP 2016 so not blazing fast, but it's no slouch.

Uninstall issue - wsdaemon is an app downloaded from the internet...
I uninstalled the app with AppCleaner but continue to see a pop up telling me to open the app. “WSDaemon is an app downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?” Even when I cancel it continues to pop up asking me to open it. I still get the pop up after restarting the computer.
WSDaemon taking up all processor speed
So I have a: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB This is a company laptop that I've taken over from the person who worked in my spot before me. He had Webroot installed and I managed to delete it only after booting in safe mode. However, now the laptop seems to want to take to the air randomly a few times per day with its fans going mental. When I look in the Activity Monitor, I see a process called WSDaemon taking up 99% of the processor speed. I really don't want anything to do with Webroot and I just want to get rid of this process. I've checked in the system library but I can't find anything from webroot / wsdaemon. Please advise how to remove or block this process from starting.
Catalina Home User
Received an email from Webroot: We are pleased to inform you that the Webroot product has been updated for macOS Catalina 10.15. If you plan to update to macOS Catalina 10.15, after you do so you will receive a pop-up that will guide you through the process of enabling the Webroot software. I performed the upgrade and there was not pop-up received after the upgrade. Webroot shows as running on the Dock but I can not pull up a window to access it. Tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but there has been no improvment. Submitted a ticket to support who informed me to call. I call and waited 35 mins of which no support person answered. Can anyone help with the following: #1 - How do I properly uninstall webroot SecureAnywhere in Catalina 10.15.1 #2 - Where can I obtain a copy of SecureAnywehre that is compatable with Catalina?
I cannot get Webroot to install on any newer Mac OS systems?
So we recently partnered with Atera who provides webroot 1click installs on PCs, but Webroot installs on Mac machines is VERY problematic. We have different versions throughout the organization and NONE of them are working properly. I have a handful of 11.6 Mac OS, some 12.1 and am using the latest version provided by Webroot (220.127.116.11/WSAMAC.dmg) yet they all fail at the same place. The user doesn’t get to provide full disk access during the initial install. We circle back and grant the full disk access but the Mac endpoints are not showing up in my webroot console. All of my PCs are in there without any problems. I have tried that version on 11.6 Mac OS and 12.1 today. They both *seem* to install, but none of them actually check-in properly. These are in different locations so I know it isn’t a FW blocking a port or something to that effect. I really need some help as we are on a deadline and have to choose between Webroot and BitDefender by Friday. Some help would be greatly
Webroot and Sudo Commands
When uninstalling WSA from a Mac computer, WSA leaves a lot behind. Could the uninstaller for Mac's be made to uninstall what is left behind? After uninstalling WSA on my Mac running High Sierra this is left behind:

Last Pass & Password Manager
On my Windows 7 laptop, I received a message after enrolling in Last pass, that Webroot Password Manager is actually Last Pass working in the background.

Is this true?
On that platform it APPEARS that all my Webroot passwords "migrated" to Last Pass. Webroot sent me a message saying this had occurred. 2.How do you know? 3.Why do you know? This migration did not occur on my MAC with Mojave 10.14.3. Additionally there was no migration selection for Webroot Password Manager in LastPass as there was for other Password Manager programs. Currently Chrome, Firefox, and Safari do not allow Webroot Password Manager Extensions on MAC particularly. What is going on?

Uninstall Secure Anywhere on Macbook Air with Catalina 10.15.5
Secure Anywhere stopped working on my MacBook after Catalina was updated to 10.15.5. Not the first time this has happened after Catalina updates. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. My pleas through support tickets were met with crickets. I finally said goodby to Secure Anywhere or so I thought. I bought a Norton product but when I tried to install it, it says that Webroot needs to be uninstalled. I have tried everything that I can think of including using the uninstall button on the app or by moving files to trash. Secure Anywhere is like Herpes simplex - it won’t go away! Please help.

problems on mac
Webroot was working fine up until today. I logged on today to see "The file: '/Applications/Webroot/MainUIStrings.bin' could not be found. Please verify and reinstall." I've tried to reinstall with no such luck, everytime I try and set it in Applications it says that I already have one in there. I've tried repeatedly to uninstall the one already in there and everytime it says it is in use. I've made sure everything is closed and the pop up will still pop up. I'm just trying to uninstall it completely to reinstall so it will work right. It will not even open anymore and there is no icon at the top. What can I do? Thank you!
