Tweet from@Mathew30 ive noticed within a short period of time with@webroot #secureanywhere that its not a cpu or page file memory hog, which is vital View on Web Mathew30, one of our @Webroot Twitter followers, was quick to share his opinions of our 2013 SecureAnywhere version. Some features he loved, others not so much. Mathew loves the “blindlingly fast” scan speeds, saying they’re even faster than before. He also appreciates the fact that the program doesn’t bog down his CPU and page file memory. That being said, Mathew does think that the new interface is more complicated, making it harder for the average user to find a setting. Another area of concern for him is an issue I haven’t seen before. For some reason, he can only copy and paste the keycode when installing using the ctrl C/ctrl V commands. Mathew’s feedback is very valuable…
Hello, Before I begin I should say that this is my first time posting here and I do not think that there is anything wrong with my computer. However, I have noticed some odd things. To begin, I started using Webroot 15 days ago when I upgraded to a new computer and have been very satisfied with it. I have noticed that in Webroot it says that my protection has been active for 18 days which is literally impossible as I have not even had the computer that long, yet Webroot does have the correct amount of time until the subscription runs out. The other odd thing that occurred today was that Windows had Webroot ask permission to make changes to the computer which it has never done before. I was trying to perform a scan and this came up. Now this may just be a technical glitch and I am overreacting, but I am just interested if anyone has any solutions/comments/thoughts to add to this. I should add that at no point has there been any warning or quarantine messages that have occurred and I h
I have SecureAnywhere Complete. I am trying to use the password management on my ios devices and having some trouble. It seems that it works okay on sites that I have only 1 login/password saved. However, on sites that I might have more than 1 login/password saved (for example, if it's a site that both my husband and I have our own accounts), then sometimes there is just a password but no username (and it's not clear which password it is), sometimes there is no password or username, and sometimes there is a password and username, but no ability to change to the other username/password. How can I access both of the passwords and usernames as I can on the computer version? Thanks.
Hi, Having the firewall setup "Warn if any process connects to the internet unless explicitly allowed" and wanted to check how it works ending up quite surprised in the end ... I chose vlc.exe process (VLC player) under Network applications and changed it to Block from Allow. Afterwards I had run VLC player and had triggered the update check supposing that VLC wouldn't be able to connect to the internet due to imposed the connection rule to Block. However to my surprise VLC could check for the updates. Am I missing something as regards the firewall rules? Is there any way how could I properly check the firewall blocks the blocked processes/applications for the outbound connections? Thanks & regards, pegas EDIT: Strange ... I changed the firewall setting to "Warn if any new untrusted process connects to the internet", chose revouninstaller.exe for instance, changed to Block and tried to check updates of Revo Uninstaller what ended up in having the bl

Webroot's own Darren Niller posted this article over on our Spiceworks page: Take a look and post your thoughts!
Is your aging endpoint security giving you gray hairs?
The signature-based approach to protecting endpoints from cyberthreats has served organizations well for many years—some say perhaps too many. The increasing rate of breaches and infections represents just one symptom of a solution whose time has passed. If you are an IT professional in charge of managing endpoints, you likely understand the pain. No signatures available for “zero-day threats” Developed almost two decades ago, legacy anti-virus/anti-malware technology uses large client applications to search for known “bad” patterns of data within executable files. It does this by comparing a signatu
Ok, I will say it before anyone else gets a chance to even think it "What a dummy". tonight has not been my night for computer smarts. My default printer was still set as the printer at my mom's. So none of my confirmations were printed out. And my IE had to recover the web page (which it did not bring me to the download page. As it stands I do not have an order number, a code, or the download. What should I do! Big question and I will be so appreciative if someone has an answer for me. While I am waiting I will check my e-mail to at least hopefully get my code. Lainie *Java Script removed by admin. Doesn't appear to relate to the question at hand*
I am thinking of getting another tablet and want to know where I can find a list of supported devices? It seems like I tried to download the program for a Coby I have and it seems like it was not supported? It is a real cheap one that has an early version of Android on it. I am looking at severa l others and want to be sure what I buy will work with WSA.
Ok, I had a few issues getting secure anywhere complete keycode sorted - this is now done. I managed to install SecureAnywhere Complete android app onto my Galaxy Ace 2, I check MyWebroot, and the device was listed but showing as having 8 issues that need resolving. I look on the device, and it says there are no issues, however the webroot icon is not showing up in the notification area at the top of the screen. So I think I will try uninstalling and re-installing the app, it asks for a password - I enter the password I used to install the app and to log into myWebroot, and it is not accepted. I check the "Subscription Active" link on the app, and the correct keycode is listed, but no email address. When I log back into MyWebroot, the Ace 2 is no longer listed. So, the phone has webroot installed but seemingly not working properly, but I cannot remove the app to reinstall it because it appears the lack of email address in the subscription details of the app mean th
I got the app from the app store for kindle fire on my new Kindle Fire HD. It installed fine, but everytime I go to open it, it says it "stopped". In the reviews for the app, it works fine for some people but others have my problem. Anybody know what to do?
even though i am running secureanywhere, i picked up some malware yesterday. thankfully malwarebytes cleaned it. now i notice that my firewall and identity shield are disabled and i can not get them to turn on. then i signed into my account and see that webroot hasn't been tracking my computer scans since march (my second pc's information is current). how do i get the firewall and identity shield to enable and why is my machine not reporting/being logged by webroot?
What is the System Events monitoring function? So far it says it has inspected over 3 BILLION system events since installation. What is that all about? Is this using any resources, what exactly is it inspecting? Is it reporting events on my system? Thanks.
I must have changed an option & cant find the setting to change it back. About once an hour or so I will notice my webroot icon is not green and there is an exclamation point on it. So I will open the webroot console and see that a shield has been disabled. It is always the offline database shield. I will select the link to re-enable the shield and it will be OK for a bit. Why is it repeatedly turning itself off, and how can I correct this issue ? I'd rather not uninstall and re-install; but understand if there is no other fix.
Wow quite a different looking interface!! It certainly is different looking than the old. My question is I 'm using the webroot secure anywhere antivirus and noticed the webroot firewall on. Will there be a conflict with my Comodo firewall? Should I turn off the Webroot firewall? I haven't noticed any problems with both firewalls on. My system is Vista 32 sp2 with all the current MS updates. Thanks for any info.
On Win XP Computer I have the Following Problem: Both WSA and MBAM Pro work well together until I do a Full Scan with MBAM Pro. It takes over 1 hour for scan to complete. I also noticed that WSA is using 50+ % CPU while MBAM scans. Computer freezes for about 5 minutes after scan completes and after a restart computer runs very slow for about 5 minutes. I did a full Uninstall and reinstall of both programs and problem still there. I disabled WSA from Task Bar Notification Area and ran a Full Scan with MBAM Pro. Scanned normal, 30 minutes. Restarted computer and computer running normal. Can't do a full scan with MBAM Pro with WSA enabled. Trouble Ticket sent to CS about this problem.
Hi all, I've already contacted support about this and I'm getting nowhere so I thought I'd try here. Last month I bought SecureAnywhere Essentials for 5 PCs. Today I wanted to try out the Backup & Sync solution but no matter what I do, I am getting an error that my credentials are invalid. Also, I had decided to look into upgrading so I could use the password manager features. When I go to upgrade/renew on my account though, it says I "You are currntly using the best security protection for your PC." and that I own Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete. Yet, there is no password manager in the software I have installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and am running 184.108.40.206. Any idea why the discrepency in versions and why the backup tool won't recognize me? Is everything lost in some kind of transition with the new product line? Support has just asked me to reinstall again and keeps telling me my license is for Essentials, despite what the site is telling me.
My Essentials Identity and Privacy Protected Applications show the msimn.exe in c:program filesoutlook express and mshtml.dll in c:windowssystem32 buttons as Deny. iexplore.exe in c:program filesinternet explorer show the button as Protect. Shouldn't all three of these show protect since they are all Microsoft products? I even clicked store defaults and they stay the same. My identity shield is on. :8
