I would like to be able to see the results of System Optimizer on all the PCs. It would be nice if there was a report for that but I don't see one. How do I view how much data System Optimizer cleaned to show my clients how much storage space Webroot is helping them free?
I'm getting frequent error messages: This site can't be reached. Server DNS address cant' be found. (Very common sites likewww.eventbrite.com or www.att.net It says "try checking the proxy, firewall and dns configuration" Running windows network diagnostic Retry Sometimes the second try works, sometimes not.. I tried calling my DSL isp provider. They checked it out. The speed is fine 6.0 but did not have any solution. I tried powering down the modem and computer and unplugging. but the problem persists. Any thoughts for non techie? No hardware was added or removed in t he home.
Hey all, Mac clients all show an old agent version. Because Mac's are not managable via the console, does one need to manually update the agent on the Mac? Am I correct that the definitions (or protection as WR doesn't use local defs...is that rignt???) are up to date and the Mac is protected even with the older agent? I do see in history that Deep Scans are happening on a daily basis. Insight on how you guys are working with Macs would be helpful. Thanks
Of the 5 Surface 1807's (Surface Pro Advanced with LTE or something like that) we have deployed in the field, the 3 that have been upgraded to Windows 10 1803 are crashing every few days with a BSOD indicating a storage problem or that a critical process crashed. In some cases the device is idle when it crashes, in other cases the users have reported a freeze for a few seconds before the crash. No memory dump file is written (crash never progresses past 0% writing dump file). We are seeing the same thing with the previous model Surface (1796 or something like that) The affected surfaces are using Samsung NVD SSD's and so are not affected by the (now patched anyway) issue that affected Toshiba and Intel SSD's. There is nothing to indicate that the crash is related to WebRoot, but it is the only non-MS software we have installed on these devices that runs at a low enough level to cause this sort of crash, and definitely the only thing that inserts itself into the
I have PC's that are located in remote locations and not connected to internet. Is there a way to get definition files to these PC's via flash drive or DVD? My concern is getting virus from tech support folks working on the system and bringing flash drives to retrieve data or load software.
No uninstall/cleanup program. On several occassions the agent, for no real reason, will lose contact with the GSM. Then you are screwed. You can’t uninstall it, you can’t change the key, you can’t do anything because it still thinks it is managed even though it isn’t. Webroot, in all their wisdom, decided not to offer a cleanup/uninstall tool. You just can’t get rid of this ugly little monster once you install it and something goes wrong. An exclude really isn’t. It wastes the CPU scanning absolutely everything then, after the fact, looks at the exclude lists and decides whether or not to ignore it. What about the word “exclude” don’t you understand Webroot? Deactivated. Really? What exactly were you trying to accomplish here and why don’t you have the ability to remove the deactivated? I can tell you for certain there are much more meaningful things for support to be doing (see above).
Hey It all depends on if you are a business or home user and if you are using the business version and the Global Site Manager, you should have access to the support ticket system directly within your console where you can submit a ticket. Below are link to get you to the Home Support options: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/home-contact If you are business: Endpoint & Mobile Protection support Mon - Fri 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (MST) email@example.com Tel: (800) 870-8102 option 2 I believe is tech support. Hope this helps. Cheers John
I am impressed by Webroot Secure Anywhere but am a little concerned about the agent commands area in the console. In particular the "download and run a file" option. I appreciate that the the console is protected by a password and security code but this is not really full two factor authentication - in that a key logger could theoretically pickup entires as they are made and guess / brute force the security code. In the absence of a full two factor authentication ( a la e.g. Google 2FA) it is at least theoretically possible for my credentials to be compromised . In that event a malicious impostor who succeeded in getting into my console would de facto have access to all the computers on that keycode via the agent commands facility ? Should the more powerful agent commands not be removed from the console in the interest of greater security? Rocky
How do I add sync folders?Knowledge Base
Question
How do I add sync folders in Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete?
Answer
Webroot configures one synchronization folder called the Anywhere folder already when it is installed. However, you can designate more folders for synchronization if you like. To add sync folders:

Open SecureAnywhere (see Using the SecureAnywhere interface).
Click the gear icon next to Backup & Sync, and click the Folders tab.
Browse to and select the folder you want to add and click OK.
Select the Sync radio button to indicate you want this folder to be synchronized.
Optionally, give the folder a new name that will be used

Good time to remind everyone to change their passwords or update your security policy to require regular changes.
I called a little while ago asking for the possiblity to get an emailed .exe of the cryptolocker virus as i am wanting to test webroot out with the journaling system for the buisness i work for caled Little Dog Tech in Iowa. I know this isn't really something to post on the community fourm but i would like to know why i can't test it out, is there anyway to get a video of webroot against cryptolocker then but to where it actually gets into the system? because we want to make sure it works before we supply, I currently use it and love it, but the owner would like to make sure it works well against cryptolocker. Please help me towards getting a video of it happening and webroot getting rid of encryption from the journaling system or but sending us a link to a one time use email.
