Hi, the last couple of days I’ve been paranoid that I might have a virus on my computer. Even though Webroot said everything was fine a part of me didn’t trust it so I looked up the latest update and realized my version of webroot is only at 184.108.40.206 while the latest update is 220.127.116.11. Every time I click check for updates I get the notification that everything is up to date. This might be a side thing but I also noticed on the version I had installed that it says Copyright 2006-2020. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Could someone please help me out?
Hello!,I'm here for a question about overrides. When do clients synchronize their changes? or better if I "right click, update the configuration" the policy is applied immediately, but how long does it take to apply "independently"?i’ve made some reaseach but i was not able to find nothing about that...thank you!Paolo
I recently had a long issue with uninstalling Webroot where unless using an -uninstall prompt, the software had no offer to uninstall. Then Later when trying to wipe the software’s files it left on the computer (pretty much everything except the .exe file) I ran into the issue of Webroot claiming I do not have system rights despite I being the only user as well as an administrator account. I have attempted taking ownership of the leftover files but nothing has happened besides the software posthumously refusing to leaf (haha) my hard drive. This is a very unique issue ive come across which ive only seen in virus software which even then I had some success of removing. Please may someone help me obliterate these files off my computer so I may have a neat install of Windows 10, Thank you and Sunday’s Blessings.
Hi,I am trying to install Webroot SecureAnywhere through Microsoft Endpoint manager so that when the computer syncs up to Intune and pulls the deployment profile and the apps to install this is automatically installed as well. What am I missing? Pictures attached for reference. I place the license key where GUILIC=0000-0000-0000-0000-0000-0000. I also make sure the correct group has the devices in it and are in the required group for assignments. Any help?
I tried to launch a game from steam, but it won’t load due to the missing wrdll.x64.dlll file. I don’t know what this file is but I think this is a webroot file since there are other topic mentioning wrdll. I never have this problem before and it just suddenly come up.Here is a screenshot of the error message : I’ve tried uninstalling webroot and launching the game again. But it still shows the same message.I reinstalled it again, hoping that the dll file will be installed as well but it’s still missing. My current webroot version is 18.104.22.168 The error only occur with games that has easy anti cheat. Other games without it can load just fine.Any idea on how to solve this? Thank you.
Since I have an account at Ally Bank, I get a free version of WSA. But, I can’t find any information as to whether or not it includes anti-spyware. Under the Identity Protection tab, it just shows Identity Shield and Phishing Shield. I don’t see anything about anti-spyware. How do I know if I have this?
Support refuses to deal with the issue.Webroot ignores the whitelist for NiceHash QuickMiner and it constantly kills the process and prevents installation even though it’s thoroughly whitelisted. What’s the point of a whitelist that gets ignored because they want to punish casual crypto mining?
I recently installed Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus on two of my software development machines (Windows 10 Pro, Microsoft Visual Studio Community Edition 2019, C/C++ console programs, NMAKE, one test executable per module). Now my build scripts are failing because multiple compiled executables are being flagged, even when they are added to the allowed files list in the “Block/Allow Files” tab.It seems that every time an executable is linked, it’s considered a “new” file that must be scanned and then suppressed. Even if I allow the program, it’s too late - the build has been aborted with the message “NMAKE : fatal error U1045: spawn failed : Permission denied”.I’ve also tried adding the code directories to the “Whitelisted Scripts” tab to no avail. How can I, as a software developer, make Webroot SecureAnywhere work for me?Thanks in advance.
Hello, for the second time WinRing0_1_2_0 has come up as a rootkit. How do I tell if it really is since 2 other programs have not identified it? Last time I went down the rabbit hole and uninstalled it, then WebRoot continued to identify different files that were rootkits. After the 6th removal task (and a couple hours) I gave up and just used a disk image from a week prior and the problem did not return until today, approximately a month after the last time.
Battle.Net Launcher was created by Blizzard Entertainment. It’s used to launch all their games. I’ve used both Battle.Net Launcher and Webroot for 7+ years and I’ve never seen this before. Webroot Threats Detected:Malware GroupW32.Trojan.Dynamer It says it’s the Launcher which ends with: “exe.50.10808.temp” Does anyone else use Battle.Net Launcher, or has anyone seen this before? I trust Blizzard, so I don’t want to jump the gun here or do anything hasty like remove Battle.Net, but this is definitely a first.Help much appreciated.
Nvidia Graphics driver update is being detected as malware. I cannot update my graphics drivers unless I can temporarily turn off protection or whitelist the .exe. Until the graphics driver is updated, I cannot use many application on my PC, including some Steam games.I am unable to temporarily turn off protection as I have lost the password to the desktop app.I tried using the web console to manage the desktop app, but my PC is not showing up. I need a way to recover the desktop app password. I would like to somehow resync the desktop app and webapp so I can remotely manage. Nvidia graphics driver should not be detected as malware.
I just bought a new license and all my PC’s show as Disabled in my console (but also shows 2 protected) and none of the scan commands work. I only have 1 PC with webroot installed so far and I can’t add my PC’s to the console, when I hit Add it has me re-download the AV, then it just open’s the new AV I just installed tonight and does nothing further. How can this be fixed?
Hi,I had Webroot Secureanywhere on my Mac last year. I have the latest OS. I renewed, by installing again Webroot. When I try to open it, the Webroot window with scan options does not open. Previously, I was able to open, and was able to check the status, or change setting. Now, I cannot do anything. I installed it using download from the site. I tried to reinstall from the CD, but I get message that the install is up to date.Help. Thanks for assistance.
When I reboot recently, the shortcut to start Webroot appears each time I reboot, and the Webroot shortcut that was on my desktop has disappeared. I’ve also seen an indication that Webroot needs to scan my system, yet the scan never finds any errors or bad files. What’s going on?
I have tried installing Webroot twice now, and as it is doing the initial scan during setup it kills my audio services. Once it has done that, the computer bogs down, and I have to reset it(from safe mode), or do like I did this time, and do a system restore. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it keeps doing this?
I’ve been having an issue with Chrome not launching when it’s on the protected list of Webroot. This seems to happen after Chrome has updated. I’ve had to switch Chrome from “Protect” to “Allow” in order for it to launch. This doesn’t seem to be an issue with Firefox. I’ve tried reinstalling Webroot multiple times with no success. Is there something I’m missing? Why is this a continuing issue?
