Having two issues for the past week or so. 1. I have two iterations of WRSA.exe opening up when my PC boots in Windows 7. One is less than 1MB, the other fluctuates. 2. For current session, I get zeroes all across. I can still scan a file manually but honestly don't know if this affects my real time protection. This doesn't happen every time but I prefer a more constant state rather than re-booting & hoping it sorts itself out. Any help would be appreaciated.
How is it that a Company that specializes in Internet Security cant rid its own self from a mentally challenged poster who spams an imaginary Support Digits day in and day out ? Its quite apparent that the new and improved mode of operation is seriously lacking.Ive been a user of Webroot for quite some time but my tolerance is being tested with an abundance of spam that Webroot cant seem to get rid of. Earlier today I tried to send a private message but was denied because of " Bad Words " Well........there were no bad words in my message but Webroot told me that a digit was a bad word so I spelled out the digit using letters. When I attempted to send the message I got a big Red warning that I had used up my total sum of private messages for the day and to try sending it later. So once again I ask.....whats up with Webroot and can they clean up their act ? Absolutely and quite sincerely, Robert
Missing Identity Shield PadlockKnowledge Base
Question
I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials or Complete. I normally have a padlock icon on my Webroot system tray icon if I am browsing the internet, but sometimes it isn't there when I'm browsing HTTPS sites. Am I still protected?
Answer
This is usually a cosmetic issue. Typically the shield itself is actually working fine but the icon is not showing up properly in the system tray. If you would like to test the Identity shield, the testing program available at the following website can test whether or not the shield is working: http://www.zemana.com/anti-keylogger.aspx As long as it's working, you will see that on HTTPS sites your keystrokes are not logged and screen grabs do not show anything. In the event it turns out to be more than a cosmetic issue in your case, you should open a support ticket here.
Having tried several security programs, I installed the trial version of WSA, although I'm not sure exactly which variant. This morning, I tried to enter http://www.cyprus-mail.com/ and got the following message This surprised me because it is a site I've trusted for years, without problems. I therefore tried a few malware web detectors and they all said there was no malware. Consequently, I tried to click on 'Allow' ad it said to the effect that I had no right to allow it and to consult Admin. I tried to open WSA and it refused to let me, I had to consult Admin (which I am). WSA seems to be a good system with a lot of advantages but, if this kind of obstacle is thrown up, I don't know whether it is what I need for my 3 computers. If I do decide to purchase it, I'm not sure how to go about this in view of the fact that I haven't a clue as to which ver
I've been having a problem off and on the last couple of days with both Google Chrome and Firefox where I run a search in Google and results do not show the Webroot URL Classification symbol (green, yellow, red, etc). The WOT symbol shows on search results. Yahoo search hasn't worked with Webroot in quite awhile now, but Google has. Chrome is version 43.0.2357.124 and Firefox is version 38.0.5 and I'm running Win 8.1 on an HP all-in-one. Thanks.
i am highly frustrated with webroot's support structure. this is a simple question, yet the responses i get back from cust support are cyclical and point me back to where i cannot get into...... i cannot get past the login screen and yet Ii have set up all the accounts that were given me on this iphone app. i need cust assistance to look at my account. another thing that makes no sence is the console name. i seem to have 2. one is expired and one is current. why is the expired one still listed if it is expired?? Thanks in advance
Hi everyone! I'm in the process of choosing new Webroot protection as my AV is about to end. Among other things, I was wondering which one gives you a preview on the right hand side when you hover over the site name. Can you suggest one? I've found the WSA Internet Security Plus 2014 on offers.com for half price - £25.00! Plus, can anyone tell me why my printer is suddenly missing lines of text when printing web pages, at the moment I'm having to save the pages to my laptop before they print properly, it prints fine when using Word, Powerpoint etc. And is there a way to convert VGA to HDMI? I've bought a HDMI cable to link my laptop to the TV but found that it's only got an VGA port (must save up and get a newer model)
Somehow Webroot is blocking KeyScrambler from Opera Web Browser. I have it set to allow in Firewall. If I disable Webroot it works fine????? Your thoughts? Webroot Security dialogue "The foreground window is being protected by Identity shield" How do I fix this? Also padlock is not showing on some secure sights? Search Engine: (https://duckduckgo.com/) Definitely not playing nice with Opera on this machine?
Hi , i sent a .zip file included near 5500 threat sample files . when i scan those files with webroot Secure Anywhere only detected near 500 threats and do not detected more than 4000 files . then I scan these files with other AV same TM, ... and they detected near 5000 threats . then i sent all 4000 sample files for webroot threat research . after near 3 days again i check files , but agaian webroot do not detected their . send a request to webroot support about why after 3 days again webroot do not detected these files ? they answer my question : " " Hello, This appears to be a collection of very old threats that will not even execute on any of the Operating Systems that are supported by Webroot SecureAnywhere, which is why they are not being detected. We focus on current threats that are still being seen in the wild and have the potential to infect our users. If you have samples of any current infections that are being seen in the wild
Periodically Webroot triggers a UAC popup asking for Administrator approval. After I approve whatever Webroot is doing I find that Synergy has disconnected from my 2 other computers. The Synergy service is running but requires a stop/restart to reconnect my screens. Is there a way to avoid this?
Sometime during the day on September 3rd, something changed. In the morning I was able to get onto the internet using IE and Firefox, and in the evening I was no longer able. Chrome, however, continued to work okay. Computer had been off during the day. Took a few days of searching the internet and came across post from years ago suggesting internet security program was blocking a certain dll associated with IE. Once the security program was turned off, IE came back. So, I tried turning off Webroot Security, and lo-n-behold IE and Firefox work just fine. Kind of pointless to have Webroot Security if I can't browse with IE or Firefox. Would like to get this resolved since I had no problems prior to 9/3. Any suggestions, thoughts? Thanks
Password Manager stopped working this AM. The Auto Fill feature is not working as well. Any ideas as to why? I use Firefox on my PC for work. Also, the pull down tab no longer appears alongside the Webroot icon at the top of my browser.
I had older version of webroot installed on windows 7 it expired and then I upgraded laptop to windows 10 and bought newer version of webroot and I cant get it to install on laptop with win. 10 I went and removed/uninstalled older version but it still doesnt work help please thanks
I am running Win 10, using Internet Explorer on the net. When I open a new page, the boxes showing previously visited pages lists many that I have not gone to. If I go in and clear my history and leave the computer on, at the end of the day, with out even using it, it will show up again. Any ideas how to prevent this and why it is happening?
My Webroot password manager has stopped working in Firefox Mozilla. Mozilla recently upgraded which maybe causing a conflict? I have turned off the password manager in Firefox, and I log into Webroot, but Webroot does not fill in the blanks on an of my websites.
Can anyone tell me how to delete a user from the Manage User dropdown. I created a fictitious user because I am having a problem with Backup and Sync. I am the only one who uses the computer and being the Administrator, it will not allow me access to perform backups. When I created the fictitious user it allowed it access to backups. I have been trying all day to resolve the problem, even contacting Webroot support and uninstalling and reinstalling Essentials. Not only do I not have access to Backups and a fictitious user, my file manager shows my computer three times and it will not let me delete any of them.
A friend of mine uses Internet Security Plus. I have Complete. Recently, she was experiencing a browser hijack (adds popping up in chrome) and I had her run her WebRoot and nothing was found. I then had her download and run Spybot, and it found 49 level 5 threats. So my question is.... WebRoot does not find these kind of problems? I assumed it did.
Yesterday Adobe have issued a regular quarterly update to its Reader application (10.1.3). I couldn't get successfully through the update process. The update was always aborted saying that some files cannot be accessed or something like this. I tried it repeatedly but always ended with cannot write to some files prompt. In the last attempt I tried to shut down WSA and ... the update process went successfully. So my conclusion is that some of the shields of WSA was blocking the update process. Just to let you know in case anyone encounter the same troubles with Adobe Reader update. P.S. I should add that all my settings (including heuristics) are default except Protected websites which are both (HTTP and HTTPS) set to maximum.
