I just bought another year of protection, but I can't activate the firewall. I click the slider and nothing happens. Occasionally, it asks me to complete a captcha screen, but nothing I type activates the firewall. It seems like every time I extend my service, I had a weird problem like this.

Unable to access any of the above sites without being redirected to flash update, or it just sits there and hangs, status bar info regularly refreshing. Looking through the forums I see it could possibly be a pseudo Zombie Ad Scam. I'm not one for clicking on links but I do remember seeing ads on youtube in odd places, and it caught my attention, making me think YT was getting OTT on the advertising.... All other sites seem to be working. However I've done various scans (i.e. Eset, Malwarebytes) and now WSA, but its still there....I was kinda hoping this would be the 'super' fix.... but....so its hardly the lever I need to change from Eset. Any ideas peeps? Running:- XPPro64 Firefox 27.0.1 Eset Security Suite Tuneup Utilities Malwarebytes WSA trial
I've downloaded the Java 8 Update 66 directly from http://www.java.com/en/download/mac_download.jsp and uncheck the other option to install additional software. Webroot thinks it is a virus and puts most if not all of the files in threat status and I can't allow them. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

This is not a big deal but it has piqued my curiosity. One thing that is always mentioned when listing the advantages of WSA over traditional AV products is that WSA takes up less than 1 MB of space on the hard drive, if you check in program files that seems to be the case, but is WSA creating other files and folders in other areas of the disk that are a bit larger than that? The reason I ask is that the uninstaller program I use is reporting that the actual size of WSA is well over 17 MB, while that is still incredibly small compared to traditional AV programs, it is substantially larger than 1 MB. So does WSA only install files in program files, or does it also install larger files and folders in other areas on the disk? Note: The date in the screenshot is the installation date. As far as I can tell there have been 6 requests for a Linux version of Webroot SecureAnywhere posted in Ideas Exchange but there is no hint of anything being developed along these lines. Are we to take it that this is just not on the radar? There seems at the moment to be only one other product which offers realtime protection for (in my case) Ubuntu - ESET - and that requires some fiddling and contortions to get it working with the latest systemd which appeared in Ubuntu 15.04. I would rather be using the same AV product across all our household machines - Windows and Linux. Is any Linux development likely to happen - or does it look completely non-viable from a commercial perspective?
I have used PrevX for almost 5 years with not a single complaint, and my computers have always remained very fast in startup, and in browsing. I have always has PrevX on my 2 primary pcs until the recent upgrade to webroot, and since I just purchased two more pcs I've added webroot to them as well. I now have Webroot on a total of 3 desktop pcs, and 1 laptop. I'm running Windows 7 HP on 2 desktops, Windows XP Pro SP3 on the last desktop, and the laptop is new with W7 Starter installed. I'm using the same keycode on 2 desktops, and a different keycode on the remaining pc and laptop. Since upgrading from PrevX to Webroot on my primary pcs I've noticed a that all 4 computers are VERY slow to startup. Once the desktop loads all icons, these icons remain inactive for around 1-2 minutes on each pc. At first I thought it was just on my own computer, until today when I accessed all 4 pcs, and am now seeing that all 4 of them have this same problem. It's as if clickign the ic
I need some help. I have the most up-to-date version of Webroot on my Mac (Safari as my browser) and this morning I noticed something odd with the Webroot Web Threat Shield. The shield reports that it is on, yet I don't see the "W' icon on my browser and no check marks or other icons appear on the side of links when I do a Google search. This makes me believe that Webroot is not analyzing links anymore! Also, I noticed (after a restart to my computer) that a prompt appears telling me that the "Safari Web Extension" needs to be installed. I click "Install" and nothing happens. Also there is still no "W" icon on my browser or icons after I do this. As a side note, usually I am able to right click on a link and be able to run the URL through the Webroot analyzer to check if the site is safe. I tried that on a few Google links this morning and that option no longer exists. Does anyone know what is going on and how I might be able to fix this sit
There's talk at Wilder's Security Forum of a new Ransomeware which is spreading by P2P networks. This Ransomeware is able to flash your bios, but it is not known at this time the changes it is making to the bios. One user which has already fallen victim to this malware says replacing your hard drive will not remove the threat. Zfactor at Wilders is trying to obatain a sample which compromised a friends computer. The victim says he has scanned his computer with norton, eset, avira, avast, dr web, bitdefender, webroot, gdata, fsecure, panda, avg, emsisoft, vipre, mcafee, comodo, ikarus, kaspersky, trend, fortinet among others , and none of them have detected the threat. The victim of this threat says he still has not been able to remove the threat even after replacing the hard drive. He says he is going to replace the memory next which I myself do not think will help from the sound of it. The Ransomewear has him locked out of the bios. I think as we find out
This file is reported as clean by my Kaspersky Antivirus, NOD32, Bitdefender It is flagged by my Norton AV and by my Webroot SecureAnywhere AV though so I put it on the ignore list Since the big sharks like Kaspersky don't detect it, I believe this is a false positive with no real harm? Kindly remove it as it is the only FP being detected on my system SHA256: 46067bcde7fb1006430f97c286d7ac8de915315291c6c542567ae73939f848c8 File name: adobe.acrobat.xi.pro.patch-MPT.exe Detection ratio: 26 / 50 Analysis date: 2014-01-30 16:25:15 UTC ( 1 hour, 49 minutes ago ) PE signature block Copyright© MPTPublisher MPT34MProduct ActivatorOriginal name ActivatorInternal name MPT34MFile version 1.0Description cr4cking th3 cod3 4 fun! Btw I also just send a support ticket.
That first item is a link to a site where your computer stars beeping claiming to be from MS warning of an intrusion on your PC with a number to call. You can’t close, all you can do is a Crl/Alt Del and kill it. WebRoot, why doesn’t this site have a red warning on it??? The newsreader I'm using is set to allow on control active processes however it is still blocking it from the Internet it requires me to set it to monitor then back to allow for it to allow this program. I contacted support by phone about this problem (name M__e he was obnoxious ) and the and he did not want to hear what is was talking about. He keep saying ( and over talking me) that you should not touch any of those buttons and webroot would do it automatically. Well if sure the heck wasn't and the only reason that I touched the buttons cause webroot was blocking a program that was marked as allowed. He then said the only way to fix it was to reinstall webroot 'cause it will default to block if the buttons have been changed at all and you will have to manually change it each time. Sounds to me that this is a flaw in the program.User control of processes but not really.
Going to port this over from Wilder's Security Forum perhaps Webroot Can help.. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=309292 When I try to run a search from yahoo or bing no results are being displayed at all. hi ,since sometimes i'm not in places with Internet access i'm going to install an antivirus(maybe nod32) along side the webroot for offline protection because offline protection in webroot is not as brilliant as online protection(when it can contact the cloud) what i' m asking is, is it fully compatible with other antivirus? i know that it is compatible but when i say fully i mean every layer of it's protection(specially rollback and journaling and behavior monitoring ) are working without any problem when an antivirus is along side secure anywhere with adding webroot to it's exclusions .
I recently stopped using Norton because it forcefully removed Malwarebytes pro while installing then let a load of PUP malware on one my my computers. I installed webroot secure anywhere antivirus and thankfully it didn't uninstall malwarebytes. I really want both malwarebytes pro realtime protection as well as webroot running together so I don't get another computer infested with potentially unwanted programs. Is it safe to have both webroot and malwarebytes pro running side by side? If not is there anyway to configure webroot to allow this?
Hi Guys - firstly forgive me if this problem has already been dealt with millions of times! My wifes PC (still on XP) shows errors in event viewer - namely 7031 & 7032. It seems that this relates to WRSVC issues, which if I am correct relate to the webroot program. In essense, WRSVC keeps switching itself off, followed by an immediate attempt to restart. All in fairness, everything seems to perform quite well in spite of this reported malfunction. Is this a known 'problem' - and is there a workaround to deal with it? Thanks in advance
