HelloI am setting up the course ‘Security Awareness Training’ for a company we provide IT support for. According to this guide https://answers.webroot.com/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=4&app=vw&vw=1&solutionid=2938 I need to add ‘Secops Mailbox’ in order for the training to work. It is my understanding that flagging a mailbox as ‘Secops’ just opens the mailbox up to any rules I then put into Phishing simulation. I just wanted to confirm this is the case and that there will be no adverse affects from flagging the mailbox as a ‘Secops’ mailbox. I am changing 30 or so mailboxes so wanted to double check before finalising the settings Thanks in advance :) H
Some observations on installing Webroot endpoint protection (v126.96.36.199) on a Windows 10 (build 10041) test VM.... The endpoint can't / won't check in to the console. I basically have an extra license now ;) Since the endpoint won't call home, it has not picked up our default policy. The GUI will open, all controls are accessible from the user side (no bueno). In our environment, windows firewall is turned off. Webroot is most adamant about telling me this. I click no when it asks if I want WR to keep monitoring the windows firewall. Then, a few minutes later, it happily tells me that windows firewall is turned off... Obviously, these are not pressing issues on my side, I just wanted to report the behavior I have seen from testing WR on a new OS. I did not have WR installed on any previous Win 10 builds, so I have no idea if this was happening on earlier builds.

When searching the web...my android will freeze for a sec and saids WebrootAnywhere has stopped. Webroot icon disappears and reappears seconds later. Have any ideas why this happens now and then? What details do I need to know for Android community to problem solve this? I guess as long as Webroot pops back on..it's ok?
The newsreader I'm using is set to allow on control active processes however it is still blocking it from the Internet it requires me to set it to monitor then back to allow for it to allow this program. I contacted support by phone about this problem (name M__e he was obnoxious ) and the and he did not want to hear what is was talking about. He keep saying ( and over talking me) that you should not touch any of those buttons and webroot would do it automatically. Well if sure the heck wasn't and the only reason that I touched the buttons cause webroot was blocking a program that was marked as allowed. He then said the only way to fix it was to reinstall webroot 'cause it will default to block if the buttons have been changed at all and you will have to manually change it each time. Sounds to me that this is a flaw in the program.User control of processes but not really.
I was hit with Cryptowall 3.0 on 6 Feb. Helpful experts on another forum guided me through a lengthy, thorough cleaning procedure, including numerous scans and logs. Today, 30 days later, after booting my laptop, Cryptowall did its thing again -- new files are encrypted, old files are encrypted twice now, and the .png and .txt ransom files appeared. No website access or e-mails; the machine was just sitting there for a couple of hours. It looks to me like this virus hides really well. Now I've just finished running Malwarebytes, Avast, and Webroot -- so far, nothing I've tried can detect it. I've been reading speculation that the virus cleans up after itself and hibernates in a hidden boot partition. My question: can you guys help me truly clean this? Or I should just give up this laptop? Thanks. -Jeff
Webroot was working fine up until today. I logged on today to see "The file: '/Applications/Webroot/MainUIStrings.bin' could not be found. Please verify and reinstall." I've tried to reinstall with no such luck, everytime I try and set it in Applications it says that I already have one in there. I've tried repeatedly to uninstall the one already in there and everytime it says it is in use. I've made sure everything is closed and the pop up will still pop up. I'm just trying to uninstall it completely to reinstall so it will work right. It will not even open anymore and there is no icon at the top. What can I do? Thank you!
One more question folks. A few months back (before switching to Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete) I went to what I thought was a reputable download site (cnet download). I'd used it in the past and had no problems but upon download, I found I had been hit with a browser hijacker. Sure enough in the EULA was the agreement to add accept some browser options in whatever terms were used. I know, should have read the EULA completely. Believe me I do now! Problem is it's hard to have confidence that this won't happen again with or without EULA from "reputable" download sites. Does WR provide any protection against Browser Hijackers? It takes over your computer like a virus and in most cases is quite difficult to remove, like a virus. Thanks much for any information. JB
Hello, I am a new user to Webroot Secure Anywhere Essentials 2012 and so far I think its just fantastic :) However I think there is a bug or glitch that I have found and am hoping it will be fixed. After I right click on the Recycle Bin and run "Scan with webroot" it disappears from the right click menu. Even if the same files still remain in the Recycle Bin "Scan with webroot" is gone the very next time I right click on the Recycle Bin. However I also noticed when you add more files to the Recycle Bin the "Scan with webroot" returns to the right click menu. I also noticed when there are no files in the Recycle Bin there is still a "Scan with webroot" in the right click menu. Like for example if a restore a file from the Recycle Bin the "Scan with webroot" remians on the right click menu even though there are no more files in the Recycle Bin. Is this how the "Scan with webroot" is supposed to work? I would like
Going to port this over from Wilder's Security Forum perhaps Webroot Can help.. hi ,since sometimes i'm not in places with Internet access i'm going to install an antivirus(maybe nod32) along side the webroot for offline protection because offline protection in webroot is not as brilliant as online protection(when it can contact the cloud) what i' m asking is, is it fully compatible with other antivirus? i know that it is compatible but when i say fully i mean every layer of it's protection(specially rollback and journaling and behavior monitoring ) are working without any problem when an antivirus is along side secure anywhere with adding webroot to it's exclusions .
I recently stopped using Norton because it forcefully removed Malwarebytes pro while installing then let a load of PUP malware on one my my computers. I installed webroot secure anywhere antivirus and thankfully it didn't uninstall malwarebytes. I really want both malwarebytes pro realtime protection as well as webroot running together so I don't get another computer infested with potentially unwanted programs. Is it safe to have both webroot and malwarebytes pro running side by side? If not is there anyway to configure webroot to allow this?
Hi Guys - firstly forgive me if this problem has already been dealt with millions of times! My wifes PC (still on XP) shows errors in event viewer - namely 7031 & 7032. It seems that this relates to WRSVC issues, which if I am correct relate to the webroot program. In essense, WRSVC keeps switching itself off, followed by an immediate attempt to restart. All in fairness, everything seems to perform quite well in spite of this reported malfunction. Is this a known 'problem' - and is there a workaround to deal with it? Thanks in advance
