In October, Webroot will release its new Backup & Sync component. This new component completely replaces the system currently available in our 7.0 and 8.0 products. Once the new system is released the old system will be disabled. So if you still have any 7.0 versions installed please update to 8.0 as soon as possible to avoid losing access to your Backup and Sync services! I unfortunately tested the "deactivate" button on my own machine in the console. How do I clean this up and have it back in the proper group? I know the clue was in the "this cannot be undone" warning but hey, I'm inquisitive! Any help would be most welcome! Thanks, Arkaig

I know you probably been there and done that with my issue. I purchased the Webroot Security for my Samsung Galaxy 4-5 months ago, recently purchased new HTC Android phone. I just upgraded to the Webroot Complete this afternoon. I have been trying to get it setup on my phone all afternoon. I keep putting in the user name and password and keep getting message that "Login Failure"...... I've read the forums but have been unsuccessfull with getting a fix for this.
Hello, My webroot keps blocking access to grc.com which is a very well known and popular website for computer security, so I'm really not sure what could be wrong and I'm assuming it's just a false positive with webroot maybe detecting some of the software as malware, but I'd like to make sure. Whenever I visit I'm just giving a blank white page with tabs disappearing and everything and the browser seems to lock up, I'm assuming this is just a conflict with noscript or something, cause I didn't see it was webroot blocking it until I checked the scan log. I checked pretty much every site checking website to make sure there was nothing wrong and they all showed it was fine, even brightcloud.
I have a 3PC 3 year licence for WR Security essentials due to expire in 40 days. I have let two of those PCs update to security anywhwere essentials, but I have not registered an online webroot account for them. I have a 4th PC so yesterday downloaded the trial version for Anywhere complete. I'm pretty sure I will end up buying a 5 user 2 year licence of the complete version to cover all my PCs. I want to try the password protection on the trial version of complete so need to register. Should I register the trial code number for Anywhere complete and will it be easy to convert that to the full 5 user 2 year licence. Will it be a problem if I also register the current keycode that I have for the Essential 3 pc 3 year liscence that I currently have? Also, as currently the offer for a 1 year licence gives an extra 3 months, will I get the extra 3 months if I buy a 2 year licence? Thanks
Can anyone tell me how to delete a user from the Manage User dropdown. I created a fictitious user because I am having a problem with Backup and Sync. I am the only one who uses the computer and being the Administrator, it will not allow me access to perform backups. When I created the fictitious user it allowed it access to backups. I have been trying all day to resolve the problem, even contacting Webroot support and uninstalling and reinstalling Essentials. Not only do I not have access to Backups and a fictitious user, my file manager shows my computer three times and it will not let me delete any of them.
I've recently installed Anywhere Complete 2012 after having to reformat my pc due to a virus that bypassed my previous antivirus software (McAfee). Total reformat (actually, reformatted twiced because it still seemed kind of buggy after the first reformatting), then installed this software. Now, my pc freezes periodically. Its random, not specific to any particular website, but always occurring while I'm browsing the internet. Since I'm new this to this antivirus software, I'm wondering if the freezing is occurring because of scanning or something else concerning Webroot. Has anyone else seen this occur or experienced this problem? I'm hoping its simply a setting I can adjust that will fix the issue. Thanks for any feedback.
I read in the commercial info that endpoint security can be installed on top already installed safeguards. The FAQ in this thread talks about malware protection only though. Anyway since I am evaluating endpoint security, I left F-secure/2012 installed, which is also nice in case I am off-line, I think. Having both installed, I had trouble with Firefox. I could not logon to one of my bank accounts, using FF, win 7/32. What happened was that the click on the logon button was registered (dimmed) but no logon. Using Chrome I could logon. Apart from that I also got a false positive detection error from F-secure regarding WSA So I decided to continue the trials without an already installed package (but kept windows firewall of course) === edit, removed the screendumps from my cloud

Running a limited user account will effectively mitigate against the majority of Windows vulnerabilities. System Analyzer will notify you in the event you are running an administrative account, rather than a limited (or "standard") user account. Why is it a good idea to run a limited user account? Our own Dancho Danchev wrote an article for ZDNet a while back that explains just how important this can be. The article may be getting a bit old, but the principle behind it hasn't changed. Many exploits require administrative rights to function at all. Certain other malware can be contained to affecting only the limited user acc
I installed software from a well known company and it auto installed the Ask.com toolbar and changed all my browsers homepages without my permission. I am super not happy about that. This is not webroots fault, but I did want to know if your software has any protection for changing homepages without user consent.

Our stand-alone web browser had formerly been available on iOS devices for free already, and it's now available on Android as well.
