Folks, Every now and then WSA will abruptly termiante and restarts. The only way I know this has happened is when I look in the Windows 7 Event Viewer as it shows as an application error. I do not have the "exception code," but will the next time it takes place. However, has anybody had this general experience before? Have Windows 7 (SP1 - 64 bit) with the Windows firewall operating, but not the Windows Defender (disabled). Have Malwarebytes, but it is not loaded as anytime unless I manually choose to run a scan, then I finish and exit the program from the tray and memory when complete. BTW, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but it really doesn't help this issue. Comes back at random times...perhaps 2-3 times per week, but as mentioned, always restart so I am not without protection. I do have it set for "Boot Scan" so perhaps that might have soemthing to do with this behavior...not sure, but I do not think tha
Greetings Community! This is a bit scary: Windows 10 -- over a dozen times this afternoon -- has given me popups warning that both Webroot and Windows defender are turned off, but Webroot appears to be running as usual. And in the control panel, Webroot is listed as "on." I've restarted the PC and run a few scans, but it keeps happening. Anyone have an idea what is happening? Thank you!
I have purchased SecureAnywhere complete. It is installed, registered and I have established a Webroot account. I use the latest Firefox version, however I cannot get the Password Manager toolbar to install; although the Web Filtering extension appears and works. Now I know this is a regular query posted to the forum and solutions are given, HOWEVER, I have trolled through all the notices, downloaded and run the fixit tool, bitten off all my fingernails, and thought expletives unmentionable.... all to no avail. The expletives did make me feel better!!! Does anyone have an inkling as to why this is occurring and a solution? Should I uninstall and reinstall the entire programme??? Thanks in anticipation for any reply. P.S. No animals were used or injured during this fraught and distressing process!!!
Hi, I have used webrrot for 5 years or more and I was just going to renew my internet securtiy complete, but is is $99 aussie dollars, about 20 more than just buying it again, so I started shopping around and it can be purchased far cheaper elsewhere and on top of that products like bitdefender and kaspersky are less exspensive to just buy a new copy of. I am wondering before I jump ship does anyone knows of anywhere reputable to purchase a renewal at a reasonable price. Last time my renewal came up I chatted with a community rep who gave me an awesome multi year deal at a good price, but that chat option does not see to be available any longer and jumping through hoops everytime I renew and buy a new sub and having it changed over to my current account for password manager is sort a annoying. I asked this question also on twitter a few days ago but not heard back, so sort of wondering if webroot cares about old custome
Hello, Recently I added "My Documents " folders from 2 users on my PC to Webroot Backup & Sync. When I hit the "Backup now" button it says " backup is currently processing new files". After 10 seconds or so it ends and gives the time for next scheduled backup. If I check "File Transfers" it says "100% complete all files are fully synchronized." However, no new files have been added to the cloud. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to be logged on as Administrator to perform this action? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Another question coming to me it has been a productive morning thus far, I use Edge as my primary browser, when I pop to IE I see that the Webroot filtering extension is there and active, but see no such notice in Edge. Will this tech be added so that I can take advantage of it in the new microsoft browser?

So I was helping someone with their computer and uninstalled their current antivirus(not WSA). Then offcouse the windows protection center thingie pops-up that there is no AV installed, and it also suggest turning on WSA(even though it should have been uninstalled ages ago.) I see that the WSA executable is still in Program Files, but it's not in Add/Remove programs. Clicking turn on WSA downloads and launches the latest installer. Trying to uninstall through CMD (c:program fileswebrootwrsa.exe -uninstall) launches the installer as well. Another problem is that I don't have a spare license anymore, and it won't accept a trial license, so I can't install it in order to uninstall again.
Hi everyone, I just recently downloaded the trial for Webroot Secure Anywhere because McAfee kept on turning off my firewall and virus scanner (caused by a trojan), so I installed Webroot trial, and it worked flawlessly on taking out 4 trojans in my computer. My question is, should I leave McAfee installed or should I uninstall it? By experience, I knew that installing another antivirus should disable your previous one, but McAfee is still running. McAfee Suite was free from ATT, and it was a pretty horrible antivirus. It did great at first, but later on, it started turning off firewall / virus scanner on its own. I can do justice by removing it? -Thanks -RXP
Hello: It appears I am confused about the difference between a 'deep' scan and a 'full' scan. A comment by JimM in another thread is shown below. The online help is ambiguous. I was under the impression that if I chose 'deep' scan and pointed WRSA to a selected directory tree, it would grind through every file and archive and unpack/unroll archives of archives files to the end leaf. But it appears that I need to select 'full' scan in order to accomplish a thorough scan. TIA -- Roy Zider Quote by JimM in another thread: That is because a deep scan only scans potential threats. There are some files on your computer that can be ruled out as threats and are therefore left out of the scan by default. You could run a full scan if you want to scan every last file, but that isn't advised since you are already protected by running the intelligent deep scan and via protection through the shields, which operate in real-time.
Everytime I run "scan my computer" using the webroot secureanywhere complete I get "4" threats removed (see image). How can I find out which "threats" were removed. I have saved the scan log. Can somebody help me? Thanks!!
On my Google Search page today, instead of the green/orange/yellow/red symbols next to the sites, I am getting a greyed=out symbol with the hover message, "Rating not available -- couldn't connect to Webroot reputation service" and I can't seem to find out what is wrong. This is both in FF and Chrome (latest versions). My Webroot plug-in/add-on appears to be working though--the toolbar icon is green. Anyone know what's up?
For some reason my computers don’t show up in the online account console. It says I have “0 PCs Protected” and that’s not the case. I’ve searched the community forums and found that others have had this issue. The advice is to run a scan, wait awhile and see if it shows up. I’ve run plenty of scans and nothing has updated. More info… I originally installed an older version of Webroot on my old laptop. I forget what it used to be called (Webroot Internet Security maybe?) but I had a 3-user subscription. That version was discontinued at some point and I was upgraded to WSA Complete at no extra cost, but still with only 3 users instead of 5. For a while I only had it installed on the one PC but I remember it showing up online. So, the old laptop died a long time ago. I was using a desktop PC that had a different security suite at the time. I eventually installed Webroot on that desktop as well as a newer laptop. When I logged into the web console I couldn’t figure out
Yesterday (10/3/2015) I ran into a strange problem - My Firefox v41 wouldn't start up! I did some searching re FF v41 having problems and so I downgraded FF to v38... I still had the problem. Wouldn't start in safe mode either. Playing around, I realized that when I shut off SecureAnywhere (v184.108.40.206) FF was able to start. I tested the various SecureAnywhere settings to see if I could narrow things down.. I found that in Identity Protection/Application Protection I had the following line set to "Protect"... firefox.exe in c:usersobscuredappdatalocal emp7zs6d14.tmpcore When I set that to "Allow" FF is able to start up normally. However "7zs6d14.tmpcore" does not exist in the temp folder! I do have another similar line in SA ending in 7zs9138.tmpcore That does not exist in the temp folder either, but in SA it makes no difference if it is protected or allowed. Any idea what's going on? And why would Application Protection r

I saw on the main menu of my Webroot that it was time to renew, so I clicked on the icon and it brought me to a renewal thru Best Buy. Paid my due amount on a credit card. The next day my webroot was still telling me to renew. I called customer service and they said it may be because the credit card hasnt cleared yet and to give it another day, Did that and still hasnt changed except when I click on the renew now icon, the best buy page says I am okay until the end of the year. So my question is how do I get it to stop telling me to renew and am I really protected?
